About the Match
The Dragons roared with fire in their earlier game against Warwickshire in front of home crowd. Now the Bears face yet another challenge from Glamorgan Dragons at 1:30pm GMT on July 6, 2013. The Bears will face a stiff challenge once again from the team which is now at the top in their group. The foremost aim of Bears will be to evade the possibility of being at the bottom by registering a win. Glamorgan Dragons would be fighting for the same aim, but for a different reason. They’ll be looking to stay at the top of the table to make their path ahead to knockouts easier.
Glamorgan Dragons :
The Dragons have bossed the table so far by winning both their games. They won their first game rather convincingly as compared to the second one. Chris Cooke played a brilliant innings to cease the day in their favor. In the second match, things were a little tighter as match went to the later stages. Chasing a reasonably small total of 118, their batting failed to live up to the run-rate in the earlier overs which later climbed over eight. However, Nathan Mcullum’s blistering little cameo sealed it for them who came in and banged 18 off six balls. The Dragons have excellent bowling attack and deep batting forming a side that can stand tall against any other in the competition.
It’s just second game for Warwickshire Bears in Friends Life T20 this season and the threats of bottoming the table are already looming over them. They lost their first game against Glamorgan at home ground and now they face the same team at different venue. As far as batting is concerned, it weren’t pretty pictures for The Bears who were restricted to a tiny total in context of T20 scores. Their bowling, however, competed hard and made a tiny looking target a colossal one. They eventually lost the game, but they were in it for most part of it. They have a balanced side and if their batsmen fire, they can surely make life difficult for the other team in the middle.
As was the scenario when the two teams met each other last time, Glamorgan is sitting pretty at the top while Warwickshire waiting for their first win. The Bears have well-balanced team with a bowling attack that gave plenty of troubles to the Dragons in their last game. Can they switch the result of their last encounter in this match? Glamorgan Dragons have been in fine form and their batting and bowling seems reasonably good on paper. Chris Cooke is in fabulous form and Nathan Mcullum has added depth to their batting and sharpness their bowling. Considering the form and overall sides on paper, I think that Glamorgan Dragons would beat Warwickshire Bears yet again.
