Gloucestershire and Kent have had a very different experience in the T20 Blast 2019 up until now. While Kent sits at the top of the South Group standings with 6 wins from its 7 matches, Gloucestershire has just one win to its name from six matches. Two of those matches were washed away, though.
The match between Gloucestershire and Kent is going to be played at the County Ground, Bristol on the 7th of August 2019.
Two losses from the four completed games are not what Gloucestershire would have liked but the side has not played as badly as might appear. They tied one match against Glamorgan and lost to Sussex quite narrowly.
The big problem for Gloucestershire has been its batting. The likes of Miles Hammond, Ian Cockbain, and James Bracey have shown some skills but they have not been as consistent as the team would have liked. Michael Klinger is also clearly falling behind the level required at this level and we think it is time for him to move on from the game.
Andrew Tye and Benny Howell were supposed to be the centerpieces of their bowling attack. Both of the bowlers are very good in T20 cricket but they have also been a bit underwhelming this season.
David Payne, Chris Liddle, and Tom Smith have been decent at some times but this is not a great T20 lineup in its present formation.
Gloucestershire is going to have to do everything better than it has been if it wants to compete against Kent.
M Klinger, MAH Hammond, IA Cockbain, Ryan Higgins, JR Bracey, JW Taylor, Benny Howell, Tom Smith, AJ Tye, DA Payne, CJ Liddle.
The Kent side just continues to find ways of winning and so far the only team that has managed to beat them is Sussex. Kent has a very well balanced side and has made some very smart additions to its team.
AT the top of the ‘smart buys’ list would be Mohammad Nabi. The afghan all-rounder is a well known name on the T20 circuit but Kent is giving him a central role that he seldom gets in other T20 tournaments. His bowling and batting have both been very effective.
Kent’s bowling lineup also has Hardus Viljoen and Adam Milne, two big fast bowlers that excel at this format of the game. Adam Milne, in particular, is an international quality bowler that is just outside the radar of national selection.
The batting lineup has been more inconsistent but someone or the other always seems to pull Kent through. Daniel Bell-Drummond, Zak Crawley, Heino Kuhn, Mohammad Nabi, and Alex Blake have all combined to punch above their weight.
Kent would believe it can win the game against Gloucestershire on most days by just doing what it has been so far in the T20 Blast 2019.
Daniel Bell-Drummond, Zak Crawley, Oliver Robinson, Heino Kuhn, Mohammad Nabi, Alex Blake, JM Cox, Hardus Viljoen, Adam Milne, Mitchell Claydon, Fred Klaassen.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first

Gloucestershire vs Kent T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at the County Ground, Bristol. There are some showers expected early on match day but they are forecast to give way to a beautiful and sunny day.
We should be able to get a full day of cricket in without any trouble.
The pitch at Bristol is good for batting although it is a bit slow. The boundaries are not very long and there is not too much help for the bowlers either. A score of around 170 should be considered par for the surface.
We think Kent is going to be hard to stop in this match. It has been in better form, has a better bowling attack, and is also finding a way to keep scoring the runs it needs to win.
Bet on Kent to win.
