Somerset has been having a bit of a mixed T20 Blast 2019. It is one of the strongest sides in the tournament and has played some wonderful matches but it has also been quite inconsistent this year. As a result, it is currently out of the qualification zone and needs to get its act together.

Somerset will be playing against Gloucestershire, a side that has benefitted from three no-results and is one place above Somerset in the table right now.

Gloucestershire vs Somerset is going to be played at the County Ground, Bristol on the 23rd of August 2019.

Michael Klinger is getting some runs under his belt at just the right time in the tournament and will be looking to kick on from here. He will know that Gloucestershire is lucky to be this high in the table because of the weather but it is not going to be enough to see them through to the knockouts.

Players like Michael Klinger, Miles Hammond, James Bracey, and Ian Cockbain will have to step up their game and score runs more consistently.

The bowling is a bit thin especially after an injury has gotten rid of one of their best T20 bowlers, Benny Howell. A lot of the load will now fall on Andrew Tye who has been good without being at his best.

Avid Payne, Chris Liddle, Zak Chappell, and Tom Smith are not the strongest bowling attack and could struggle against the impressive Somerset batting lineup.

With him and Babar Azam at the top of the order, Somerset has one of the best opening pairs in the entire T20 Blast.

James Hildreth, Tom Abell, and some very talented all-rounders make Somerset a formidable T20 batting side.

Max Waller, Jerom Taylor, and Craig Overton will be leading the bowling for Somerset and all three of them are bowlers to be wary of. Somerset should have enough firepower in its side to be able to overcome Gloucestershire in the batting and bowling.

Roelof van der Merwe, the lone spinner for Somerset could have a big role to play in this match.
