The Patriots have won only one game so far, against Zouks and are placed 3rd with 2 points; on the other hand, Warriors continue to lead the pack with 6 points in the bag and will try to continue with their winning momentum on Saturday.
Guyana Amazon Warriors
The Warriors have been on a roll right from the start, winning all three games by successfully chasing down targets; the bowlers have consistently demolished the opponents while the batting line-up surely has done a good job. Fast-bowler Sohail Tanvir is in good form as he registered figures of 2-11 against Tallawahs, dismissing Chris Gayle in the very first over; the experienced bowler had taken 2 wickets against Trinbago Riders and claimed 4-20 against Patriots in the first match.
Speedster Rayad Emrit and left-arm spinner Verasammy Permaul, who took a superb 3-20 to stifle the Tallawahs, along with Australian spinner Adam Zampa, make this team a formidable force to reckon with. The batting line-up consists of experienced players like Dwayne Smith, Martin Guptill and Chris Lynn down at No.3, who scored an impressive 77 off 43 against Riders, and posted an unbeaten 39 to steer the team to victory against Tallawahs while chasing down the 101-run target.
Smith started the series well with a brilliant 62 off 36 against Patriots, and can definitely do well in the upcoming match. Players like Jason Mohammad, Bramble and Chris Barnwell add depth to the batting. Overall, their bowling performance is going strong and their previous win against Patriots gives them the upper hand here on Saturday.
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots
Their win against Zouks by a massive 58 runs, thanks to a superb knock of 73 off 36 by opening batsman Evin Lewis, has put them in the third position on the table; however, they suffered defeat against Tridents by 7 wickets, after the bowlers failed to defend 162 runs. The bowling squad has spinners like Samuel Badree and Tabraiz Shamsi, who can restrict the opponents from scoring the big runs. Speedsters like Santokie, Brathwaite and Perera have been successful with the wickets; they can combine well with others like Carter and JJ Smuts to stifle batsmen like Smith and Guptill.
Devon Thomas is another strong asset in the batting line-up; he scored 48 off 27 against Zouks to help the team post a challenging 203 runs. Experienced players like Lendl Simmons, Brad Hodge, Perera and the thrilling Brathwaite, who can punch sixes and fours when needed, along with captain Faf du Plessis could set up a strong total if put to bat first.
The bowling has not been up to the mark in the recent match and they will try to put up a more disciplined attack with pace and spin on Saturday.
Although Warriors are in tremendous form currently and have won before against Patriots, we feel that the visitors do have the resources to make amends and bounce back with a win here.
