Hampshire is going to be up against a tough challenge when it takes on Kent in this next T20 Blast 2020 match. Hampshire has won just one of its completed matches so far and has in fact lost its previous three completed ones.
Kent, on the other hand, has lost just one match and tied another in its five completed matches so far.
It may already be too late for Hampshire to have any realistic hopes of making the T20 Blast playoffs but even that sliver of hope remaining will be extinguished if it loses this match.
Hampshire vs Kent T20 blast 2020 is going to be played at the Rose Bowl, Southampton on the 14th of September 2020.
Hampshire has a decent batting lineup and has actually put in some good performances without much reward. Tom Alsop, Joe Weatherley, and James Fuller have been the best batsmen for Hampshire so far with well over a hundred runs to each of them.
If Sam Northeast and James Vince also start scoring runs, this Hampshire side could be considered a very strong batting team. Unfortunately, it seems as if Vince and Northeast are not in the best of form right now.
We would not bet against Vince for too long, though. He is a domestic giant and capable of smashing attacks at this level at ease.
Mason Crane leads the bowling charts with seven wickets to his name for hampshire. He is being talked about as a potential second spinner as England look to build towards the 2023 World Cup in India. We think he might actually do a lot better if he had some decent support around him.
Chris Wood is the current second highest wicket-taker for Hampshire. The side is struggling to keep the runs down and pick up wickets at regular intervals.
James Vince, Tom Alsop, Sam Northeast, Joe Weatherley, Ian Holland, James Fuller, Lewis McManus, CP Wood, RA Stevenson, Mason Crane, Shaheen Afridi.
Zak Crawley will be happy to return to Southampton for this match. He likes the pace and bounce that this surface generally offers as it plays to his strengths. Crawley is having a career defining summer and has been striking the ball very cleanly.
We think he is going to be in the running for a limited overs very spot very quickly with the England national side.
Crawley leads a very strong batting lineup with the likes Daniel Bell-Drummond, Joe Denly, and Heino Kuhn in there as well. Perhaps more importantly, most of these players are in good form coming into this contest.
Imran Qayyum has been the best bowler for Kent so far and would love to outshine Crane in this contest. Fred Klaassen has more wickets than Qayyum but his economy-rate is much higher as well.
Kent is going to need to be at its best against a very strong Hampshire batting lineup, at least on paper.
Daniel Bell-Drummond, Zak Crawley, Joe Denly, Heino Kuhn, Alex Blake, Jack Leaning, JM Cox, Grant Stewart, Matt Milnes, Fred Klaassen, Imran Qayyum.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first as is the norm in T20 cricket. We don't think the surface is going to change at all over the course of the match, though.

The weather forecast for this match is very good and we should not have any rain related interruptions. Southampton offers something in it for the bowlers. The boundaries are large and there is good pace and bounce in the surface.
The batsmen can also make the most of these conditions leading to a very well-balanced contest between bat and ball.
A score of around 170 batting first is going to be seen as par.
This is a tough match to call. Hampshire is under-valued because it's batsmen have not been performing to their potential. On paper, however, it has the batting to match Kent. On the other hand, Kent has a top-order that is in form and firing on all cylinders.
It could be a brilliant clash decided by the stronger batting team.
Bet on Kent to win.
