The Sydney Sixers started the BBL 2019-20 season with a comprehensive victory over the Perth Scorchers. Their bowlers set up the game brilliantly after which the batsmen finished it off in style. They now travel to Alice Springs for their next game against the Hobart Hurricanes. Continuing in the quest to expand cricket beyond its traditional centers, the Hurricanes will play their opening match at a venue where one BBL matches hosted in 2018 and last season’s match had to be canceled because of a poor outfield.
The Hobart Hurricanes were considered desperately unlucky to be knocked out in the semis after a brilliant group stage. Can they start off in the same dominant fashion again?
Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers BBL 2019-20 is going to be played at Traeger Park, Alice Springs on the 19th of December 2019.
The Hobart Hurricanes are going to be without Jofra Archer this season and that could have a big impact on their performances. They still have the core of the successful side together, though, and are going to be hard to stop.
Darcy Short is going to lead the challenge for the Hurricanes against the Sydney Sixers. Short came into the limelight with his BBL performances and continues to be remarkably consistent across seasons. The Hurricanes need Short to have another very good season because their batting is a little vulnerable.
Caleb Jewell, David Miller, George Bailey, Ben McDermott, and Jake Doran are some of the other batsmen in the squad that will have to help carry the load of scoring runs. George Bailey has retired from first-class cricket and this is going to be his last BBL season as well.
Ben McDermott is dangerous and we know what David Miller is capable of in the T20 format but reliability is an issue with both these batsmen.
James Faulkner, Clive Rose, and Qais Ahmed are all decent batsmen but they would not like to be needed too often.
The Hurricanes are known for their love for fast bowlers and they still have some exciting names in their squad, even without Archer. Rilee Meredith, Aaron Summers, and David Moody are all quick bowlers while Nathan Ellis joins the squad with a big reputation as well.
Qais Ahmed and Clive Rose are the spin-bowling options in the side.
D'Arcy Short, Caleb Jewell, Ben McDermott, GJ Bailey, David Miller, Simon Milenko, James Faulkner, Nathan Ellis, Qais Ahmad, Riley Meredith, Clive Rose.
The Sydney Sixers started off with a fantastic win against the Perth Scorchers. The Sixers bowlers managed to take out the heart of the Scorchers batting for next to nothing and then just kept its foot on the throat from then on.
Tom Curran starred with three wickets but Ben Dwarshius, Steve O’Keefe, and Ben Manenti were no less impressive.
With Sean Abbott in the lineup as well, the Sydney Sixers have an impressive bowling attack.
Josh Phillipe was at his attacking best in the opening match and made a mockery of the Perth bowling. He is going to be the wicket that every team is after his 81 not out from just 44 balls. The Sydney Sixers also have Daniel Hughes, James Vince, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, and Hayden Kerr in their lineup to give it a solid look.
As we have mentioned earlier, the Sydney Sixers have put together a very strong squad and have plenty of options available to suit different conditions. They could include an extra spinner or strengthen their batting as the need arises.
The challenge for them is going to be consistent in the batting, especially against a strong bowling team like the Hobart Hurricanes.
Josh Philippe, Daniel Hughes, J Vince, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Hayden Kerr, Tom Curran, Sean Abbott, B Dwarshuis, Benjamin Manenti, Lloyd Pope.

The conditions at Alice Springs are always a bit tricky to play in. The outfield can be sandy and the balls tend to plug-in rather than bounce away quickly. The outfield is pretty small in size and the pitch is a drop-in. We should have some pretty good batting conditions but perhaps more help for the spinner than teams are used to in Australia.
That could play into the hands of the Sydney Sixers.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 Prediction for Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers BBL 2019-20 has to take into account the surface on which this match is being played. It seems likely that the spinners will get some help and so the best time to bat is going to be in top-order.
Obvious picks like Darcy Short and Josh Phillipe are a must but the real value lies in the other players. We think top-order batters, death bowlers which can bowl cutters, and some value batsmen are the way to go.
We think the Sydney Sixers have a good chance of winning this match. They have started the tournament well and are in good form. Their bowling lineup is capable of competing against the Hurricanes while their batting is pretty decent as well. The Hobart Hurricanes have some major changes in their side and are not starting at the venue of their choice either.
It could be a rough start to the season for them.
Bet on the Sydney Sixers to win.
