It’s a top of the table clash in the Karnataka Premier League as the top-2 teams take on each other. The Bengaluru Blasters and the Hubli Tigers have both won three out of the four matches they have played this season. Both the teams ended up being involved in one washed-out match and so are yet to lose in this tournament.
The result of this match could be very important moving forward because it looks like both the teams will be competing in the knockouts as well.
Two fifties for Mohammad Taha in two matches have been very good for the Hubli Tigers, especially considering the fact that no other player in their side has scored a fifty. Taha has been very prolific hitting 22 fours but clearing the boundary only once.
He will once again be the focal point of the Hubli Tigers batting. Runs have also come from the bat of Dubey, Vinay Kumar, and Gowda but they have been far from consistent. The Hubli Tigers would be hoping for a better batting performance overall from their side.
The bowling for the Hubli Tigers has been quite decent. Vinay Kumar is currently the most economical bowler of the side while Mahesh Patel is not too far behind either. Patel has also taken 7 wickets to easily be the leading wicket-taker for his side.
Both these bowlers, alongside Kranthi Kumar and Darshan, form a good bowling unit. The Bengaluru Blasters have some good batsmen in their side but they would be wary of the threat posed to them by the Tigers.
Mohammad Taha, Kranti Kumar, Abhishek Reddy, Sujith Gowda, Praveen Dubey, RV Kumar, MB Darshan, AM Kiran, Suraj Seshadri, S Shivaraj, Mahesh Patel B M.
Robin Uthappa is the biggest name in the Bengaluru Blasters side and perhaps even the entire tournament. He is easily a cut above the field he is competing against and this why his fans would want to see him really dominate. Currently, Robin Uthappa has 82 runs in the tournament, 81 of which he scored in one game.
It is not a bad return for Uthappa who would be hoping to make his upcoming matches count a lot more.
Uthappa is supported by Arshdeep Singh, Deshpande, KB Pawan, and Abhishek Bhatt in the side. The Bengaluru Blasters is one of the better batting sides in the tournament. It is safe to say that the contest between the Blasters batting and the Tigers bowling is going to decide the outcome of this match.
The Bengaluru Blasters do not have a strong bowling attack, which is the norm for most teams in such tournaments. So far, Bhadange has been picking up wickets for them at regular intervals while Koushik and Anand are the bowlers keeping run-scoring tight.
The Bengaluru Blasters know that the batsmen have to do the bulk of the work in their matches if the side has to continue its winning run.
M Vishwanathan, RV Uthappa, KB Pawan, Pavan Deshpande, AS Brar, Manoj Bhandge, S Gopal, Mitrakanth-Yadav, V Koushik, Abhisek Bhat, Anand Doddamani.
The team winning the toss is likely to want to field first
Rain has been forecast in Mysore with some thunderstorms around the time that the match is expected to start. We can hope for a full match to be played out but it does not look likely at this point in time. In fact, a result at all from this game would be something to feel happy about.
If the pitch does get a chance to be used, then a good batting wicket with some help in it for the spinners can be expected.
Back the Bengaluru Blasters to win.
