India was handed one of its most comprehensive defeats in history when it was rolled over in just 2.5 days in Indore. Australia has now qualified for the WTC Final and will be much more relaxed after winning its previous match. Squaring the series, if it can do that, will be a massive achievement.
The expectation in Ahmedabad is for another spin-friendly surface. We do think that it may not be the raging cobra pit that we have seen in the previous venues.

IND vs AUS Team Previews
India
India made a couple of changes to its lineup for the previous match when it rested KL Rahul and also Mohammad Shami for the previous match. Shubman Gill is certain to get a longer run and Umesh Yadav did quite well so Mohammad Shami could only come back for Mohammad Siraj, if it all.
We don't think India is going to deviate from its template at all. It will play three spinners and two pacers while sticking with Srikar Bharat for this game as well. There is no reason to either. India has lost just three matches at home in the last decade.
The concern is going to be with the manner in which the Indian batters have played spin. Pujara, Rohit, and maybe Shreyas Iyer at times have looked like getting a big score but they have yet to do so. Kohli is another batter that seems to be making too many mistakes at the moment. We would not bet on any of the Indian batters in their current form.
Ravindra Jadeja has been the standout bowler for India and could very well be the highest wicket-taker once more. We also think Axar Patel could get more of a role in this match and so he could be one to watch out for.

Australia
Australia has looked like a much more impressive team ever since it added Matt Khunemann to the lineup. He has adapted very well to the conditions and is bowling the perfect length. His presence has also allowed Nathan Lyon to come into his own and he is now being considered the greatest-ever overseas spinner to play in India.
Todd Murphy has not been as effective in the previous two matches but he is still one of the best young spinners that we have seen in a long time. His battle with Kohli will be an interesting one to watch out for.
Australia's batting has been quite decent in all the matches it has played so far. Usman Khawaja and now Travis Head have been excellent while Smith and Labuschagne seem to be close to getting a big score. A weak middle order and an underperforming fast bowling unit are the two big concerns that Australia will have to address.
We would stick with Nathan Lyon as the best bowler and maybe Usman Khawaja as the best batter for the visitors.

Pitch and Conditions
The conditions in Ahmedabad are expected to be a bit better for batting but still spin-friendly. There is also some bounce in the surface that can make the spinners even more dangerous. The pitch is definitely going to spin but it may play a bit better for the first couple of days.
