England and India have already played out a grueling Test Series that started well for the visitors but ended completely in favor of the hosts. Now, the action shifts to the T20 series, and with the T20 World Cup just a few months away, this series is equally as important.
Both teams have named a full-strength squad to contest the series. All five matches are going to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad which is also the venue where the T20 World Cup 2021 Final is going to be played.
India and England are going to be two of the strongest contenders and so this series is going to be keenly watched around the cricketing world.
India vs England 1st T20 2021 is going to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on the 12th of March 2021.

There is a lot of competition in the Indian team for places and the T20 squad chosen for this series is a prime example of that. One of the biggest challenges ahead of India is going to be finding the right combination.
Just look at the options available to open the batting. Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Lokesh Rahul are a part of the squad. India has to choose between Rahul and Dhawan to partner Rohit and also whether the remaining payer can fit in at number three.
Virat Kohli is presumably the number one option at the choice but he can shift down one position as well.
In the middle-order, India has Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Rishab Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav to choose from. Iyer is the incumbent here but every other player on the list could walk into any T20 team in the world.
You then have the all-rounders like Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel.
We think India is going to go with Rohit, Rahul, Kohli, Iyer, Pant, Hardik, and Axar Patel at their top-7. This gives India plenty of depth and firepower at the end to boost their totals as well.
Among the bowlers, Rahul Chahar is expected to join the squad in place of Varun Chakravarthy while T Natarajan may also not be fit enough to take part. We think Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, and perhaps Deepak Chahar will be in the playing eleven for the first match.
This balance may change depending on Hardik Pandya bowling or not.
India has a lot of depth and can experiment with a number of different combinations. The only aspect where we see a bit of weakness is the pace bowling since Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami are not available for selection.
Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, V Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, RR Pant, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, SN Thakur, YS Chahal.
England is perhaps the most dangerous and versatile team when it comes to T20 cricket. It reinvented its white all cricket after the 2015 World Cup around its T20 players and that has paid off massively.
Now, it is on a quest to add the T20 crown to its kitty after winning the 50 over World Cup in 2019.
Like India, England also has a problem of plenty and multiple options for every position. Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow, and Jos Buttler will all be competing for the opening slot.
Roy and Buttler may get the first chance with Bairstow and Livingstone in the middle-order. It would not be very surprising to see Jonny Bairstow miss out completely either.
Dawid Malan is the world’s top-rated T20 batsman and he has first dibs on the number three position. Can he have the same kind of impact in India as he has done in other parts of the world? We think he can. His game against spin is proficient and he is very good at finding the boundaries against the fast bowlers.
Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan, and Moeen Ali are the other batsmen that we think will get a run in the playing eleven for the first game. This England batting lineup is ferocious and has a fantastic amount of power at its disposal. It can certainly go toe to toe against India in this series.
England is sweating on the fitness of Jofra Archer and it appears as if he may not be available for selection for the first few matches. That means Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Sam Curran, and Tom Curran are the likely bowlers to start.
England’s riches of all-rounders gives it a great amount of flexibility, however, its spin department seems a bit underwhelming to us.
Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan, BA Stokes, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan, AU Rashid, Mark Wood.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. There was a lot of dew in the Pink ball test that was played here and so the same can be expected for this match as well. Chasing might prove to be a big advantage and must be considered while placing your bets.

The weather conditions are good for cricket and the entire focus is going to be on the pitch. We saw a big improvement in the surface from the third to the fourth Test match but spin always played a big part. For the T20’s, we think a flatter surface that is going to be rolled much more offer the batsmen a lot more to work with is likely.
The bounce in the surface should be pretty good and we think there are going to be lots of runs scored. A total of around 170-180 should be seen as par batting first.

These are two very strong T20 teams going at each other and small things can end up being the difference. The batting strength in both teams is incredible and the bowling is quite good too. England seems to have a better pace attack but India has a better spin unit.
To start out, we have to stick with India because of its home advantage. Its batting is very strong and the bowling will be effective too. Its players are extremely experienced at playing T20 cricket and should be able to make better use of the conditions.
Bet on India to win.
We do not rate Jason Roy very highly. He is a great striker of the ball but he comes off one in every ten matches. India will be smart and pepper him with spin early on in his inning. Roy can be deadly dangerous when he gets going but that just does not happen often enough. We are very comfortable betting against him to get a big total in this match.
This is a high-risk bet because batsmen just do not play out maidens in T20 cricket. However, we have seen on many occasions that bowlers can get an early wicket or two in an over and then get on top of the batsmen completely. A return of close to 5x is tempting enough for us to take the risk. Bet a small amount on this one and you may be very pleased with the outcome.
This is our favorite bet of the match. You can bet on the best batsman in the world to get one-six in his entire inning and end up doubling your money! Malan is an underrated six-hitter but he almost always seems to get a big hit away if he spends any decent time at the crease. We are backing him to get at least one six and help us win this bet!
