India vs England test series 2021 has been absolutely fascinating so far. Both the teams have won one match each and dominated the other when they have got on top. We now move from Chennai to Ahmedabad where the largest cricket stadium in the world awaits us.
This is going to be the first match played on the ground and so there are a lot of unknowns. We do not know how the pitch is going to behave or what effect dew will have later in the day. Also, this is just the second Pink ball test match in India and so the number of unknowns just keeps increasing!
There are going to be team changes on both sides as both India and England try to get their balance right for this match. Crucial WTC points are also up for grabs as a place in the inaugural World Test Championship Final beckons.
India vs England Third Test Match 2021 is going to be played at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad starting on the 24th of February 2021.
India came back strongly in the second test match to register one of its biggest wins in test history. After losing the first test match by over 200 runs, India came back and won the second test match over 300 runs.
Now, however, the Indian team is going to be playing its first Pink Ball test after the 36 all-out disaster in Adelaide. It appears as if the nature of the pitch, the ball, and the conditions on offer are going to force some changes in the Indian team.
Jasprit Bumrah is going to come back into the team for sure and we also think Kuldeep Yadav is going to be dropped for a third seamer. Whether Mohammad Siraj keeps his place or whether Umesh Yadav gets a call up remains to be seen.
That means India could have Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel in the team.
That is an excellent bowling attack and certainly capable of adding depth to the batting lineup as well in Indian conditions.
The rest of the team should continue to be the same. We saw Rohit Sharma smash a match-winning 161 in the first match. He will be tested against the pink ball but he is possibly India’s most dangerous batsman right now.
Gill, Pujara, and even Kohli to some extent have struggled to get runs. With Rahane, Pant, and the bowlers to follow, India’s batting could be exposed if it loses some early wickets. This may be one of the trickiest tests that India has had to play in home conditions in a long time.
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, V Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, RR Pant, Washington Sundar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, JJ Bumrah, Ishant Sharma.
England would be disappointed with the manner of its defeat in the previous match but it would still be thrilled at being 1-1 coming into this match. This Pink ball test is probably the one that England would have thought it was the most likely to win before the series.
There are going to be some team changes in this match as well.
Jonny Bairstow is back in the squad and we think he is going to replace Dan Lawrence immediately. Moeen Ali is no longer with the team and so Dominic Bess will come back to the team as well. Also, there is no way that Jimmy Anderson does not play this match and so he will make his way back into the team as well.
There are some other possible changes as well. Rory Burns has been in trouble against Ashwin and may be swapped out for Zak Crawley. Finally, this may be one of those rare occasions where we see Stuart Broad and James Anderson play together abroad. Of course, a final call on Jofra Archer’s fitness will probably dictate that as he is sure to play if available.
England’s best chance of winning this match is with the ball. They must try and pick a side that is able to bowl India out cheaply. The conditions may also be a bit easier for its own batsmen and they may be able to get more runs this time around.
Joe Root is in the form of his life and we back him to score runs in this match as well. Whether he can have the same kind of impact as he did in the first match is a bit questionable, though. England’s batting is weaker than India’s but there are some proven match-winners like Ben Stokes in there too.
Ollie Pope, Ben Foakes, and Dominic Bess will add depth as well.
Dominic Sibley, Zak Crawley, Jonny Bairstow, JE Root, BA Stokes, Ollie Pope, Ben Foakes, Jofra Archer, Stuart Broad, Jack Leach, James Anderson.
It is a huge advantage to win the toss in India. Both the test matches played so far were won by the team batting first and the conditions changed dramatically for the chasing team. This match is a bit different but we still think that winning and batting first is going to be a huge bonus.

The weather is going to be hot and dry for the duration of the match. The pitch is more of a mystery. It still has a fair bit of grass on it a few days out and we could a much livelier surface than what we witnessed in the first two matches.
That means there will be more bounce and carry for the pacers. The pink ball is going to swing as well, especially under lights. The dew in the evening could make it tough for the spinners, though, and the ball may come on to the bat a bit better than expected.
Traditionally, pitches in this region of the country have tended to be flat and then break up around the fourth or the fifth day.
Dream11 team and dream11 tips for India vs England 3rd Test Match 2021
This test match is going to push India out of its comfort zone but we still don’t think there is any need to panic for the home fans. India has a world-class bowling attack and will actually back itself to get the better of England no matter how much grass is left on the surface. Also, the conditions are going to be less helpful for the spinner that will make it tougher for England’s spinners than India’s.
Finally, while all the focus is going to be on the conditions, remember that we are still playing in India. It is highly unlikely that India will offer England the chance to take the lead in the series by handing over a ranging green seamer.
With just two losses in the previous eight years at home, India is the team to back.
Bet on India to win.
This is our favorite bet for this match and it as close as you can get to a sure thing. We are playing Ahmedabad, Gujarat a state that is famous for some massive runs being scored at the domestic level. Just look at the quality of the batsmen on show and you will see why a return of close to 60% for this bet is just insane!
Take advantage and go big. Such betting opportunities are rare.
Once again, this is a fantastic bet considering the likelihood of you winning and the odds being offered. Rohit Sharma alone can hit more sixes than the entire England team combined! Of course, you do not need him to hit sixes alone. As long as the total sixes hit by India are more than England, you win. We just cannot see England hitting more sixes no matter what the circumstances.
