IND vs RSA Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Oct 10, 2019

With both South Africa and India doing reasonably well in the first match of South Africa's tour of India, the focus now shifts to the second match of the series. Within the second match, the focus will be on the surface of Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, the surface that is known to produce high-scoring contests but was rated poor by the ICC just a couple of years ago. Despite the defeat, South African skipper was pretty vocal about the positives his side derived from the first match. While South Africa wouldn't be too worried about the result of the first match, they'd undoubtedly want to do a lot better when the two teams meet to play the second match of the series beginning on Thursday, 10th October.

IND vs RSA Team Previews

India

India have nightmarish memories of playing at this venue and would love to erase those with a win here. India were dealt with a flattening defeat back in 2017 wherein relatively new Australian spinner wreaked havoc on Indian batsmen. India, however, have moved ahead from that defeat. They have played ten matches since then and haven't lost any, winning seven of those ten matches.

In the first match, India had to toil hard to get South Africa under the pump for the first three days, at least. Having said that, there's hardly anything that went wrong for Indians in the last match, or in the last few series as a matter of fact.

Batting first in the last match, Indian batsmen posted a grand total in the first innings, riding on daddy hundreds from Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal. India's deep batting lineup and versatile stroke makers helped them to post a tall total for the Proteas to chase down.

In the second innings, Mohammad Shami and Ravindra Jadeja utilized the surface to perfection as they returned with great figures each after having a laborious outing in the first innings. India have a perfectly rounded bowling attack, which did pretty well in the first match, and the onus will be on them to get India to yet another victory.

India Playing 11

Mayank Agarwal, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, V Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, WP Saha, Ravichandran Ashwin, I Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami.

South Africa

Despite the loss, South African skipper wasn't too disappointed with the defeat his team faced. The Proteas batted exceptionally well in the first innings of the Vizag test and will be looking to only grow from here.

On paper, South Africa have a terrific batting unit, whose prowess was seen in the first innings of the first test. Dean Elgar's grit and determination allowed the rest of the batsmen to settle down and then play their shots. Aiden Markram looked good in the second innings before he became a victim to Ravindra Jadeja's acrobatic fielding.

Faf du Plessis was himself brilliant in both the innings, but superb deliveries in both the innings cut him short of what could have been a good score. He also backed Temba Bavuma to do well in the upcoming fixtures. Bavuma has done well in the longest version of the game historically and did well in the T20I series prior to the test series.

South Africa's bowling has done well for them historically, but the likes of Rabada and Philander failed to make any impression whatsoever in the opening match. Pune's surface is expected to be a lot more conducive for the bowlers, and we expect the Proteas to put up a better performance in the upcoming contest.

South Africa Playing 11

Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Theunis de Bruyn, Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Senuran Muthusamy, VD Philander, K Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje.

IND vs RSA Betting Tips

There appeared to be plenty of difference between the two sides in the first match of the series wherein the Proteas had to bat on a dustbowl of day five. Toss could once again play a massive role once again. Picking up twenty wickets will be key in winning the second match of the series, which we think will be difficult for the Proteas. India have all the resources available in both the departments of the game and go in as firm favorites to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
