The first T20 between India and Sri Lanka turned out to be a no-show after rain played spoilsport. That actually makes this next game even more important since the team that wins cannot lose the series. For a team like India, which has been guilty of starting a bit slow in recent matches, there is no time to waste.
The weather forecast for Indore is quite good and we should not have any trouble getting a full game in. Sri Lanka and India both names their playing eleven in the previous match giving us a glimpse of what their plans are.
India vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20 is going to be played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore on the 7th of January 2020.
Virat Kohli has been known for making some strange selection calls and we cannot say we were impressed by the playing eleven that India announced for its first match. Not a single ball was bowled and so we could have the same group turning up for the second T20 international as well.
India essentially chose four batsmen, a wicketkeeper-batsman, two all-rounders and four bowlers. Shikar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer all pick themselves while Rishab Pant continues to get chances at number 5.
Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar are the two all-rounders. It looks like Shivam Dube is going to keep his slot until Hardik Pandya is back because of his ability to hit the long ball. We are not very convinced about Shivam Dube, though, especially his bowling.
It was also very strange to see Kuldeep Yadav be preferred over Yuzvendra Chahal. We feel Chahal has been extremely unlucky to not be India’s premier spinner at this point in time despite always being able to perform under pressure when given the chance.
Jasprit Bumrah is back and that will add teeth to the Indian bowling while Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur will be keen to take their chances in the absence of other regulars as well.
India’s batting is very strong but the lower order seems a bit too long. A couple of early wickets, especially if that includes Virat Kohli, could make things tough for India.
Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, V Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, RR Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, SN Thakur, NA Saini, JJ Bumrah.
Sri Lanka also named a side that had six bowling options and decided to keep faith with its young batsmen. They left out Angelo Mathews from the playing eleven, a move that seemed perfectly logical to us.
The batting lineup of Avishka Fernando, Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Perera, Oshada Fernando, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa is quite dangerous. The all-rounders to follow can bet quite well and are known to be able to clear the boundaries with ease.
This batting lineup is very dangerous especially considering the inexperienced pace attack that India is going to field.
We love the fluency with which Avishka Fernando bats while the powerplay of Bhanuka Rajapaks makes him an attractive pick as well for the top-scorer in this lineup.
Isuru Udana and Lasith Malinga will lead the bowling attack for Sri Lanka. That means we can expect a lot of slower deliveries and cutters being used. Wanindu Hasaranga is the attacking wrist-spinner in the side and Lahiru Kumara the big fast bowler.
The Sri Lankan team certainly looks very good and capable of winning matches in the subcontinent. The biggest challenge for the side is going to be overcoming its lack of experience as well as a bowling attack that looks a bit underwhelming.
Danushka Gunathilaka, Avishka Fernando, Oshada Fernando, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Isuru Udana, Kusal Perera, Wanidu Hasaranga, Lahiru Kumara, Lasith Malinga.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first

The weather forecast for Indore is excellent and we should not have rain interrupting the match. The pitch at the Holkar stadium is a batting beauty. There has been only one international T20 played at the venue prior to this one, also between India and Sri Lanka, where India batted first and scored 260.
Sri Lanka also got over 170 runs I response showing just how good the surface was.
We can expect another similar surface where a high-scoring match is likely.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 prediction for India vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20. This match is going to be played at Ondore where the surface is expected to be very batting friendly. We have tried to pick the batsmen most likely to score from both sides. Some value picks available in the Sri Lankan side allow us to pick the entire expensive Indian top-order. This strategy also means that we have to pick more Sri Lankans in our side to balance out things.

We think a good batting surface tilts things the way of the Indians even more. The strong top-order is unlikely to be tested too much by the docile Sri Lankan bowling unless there is help in the surface. The Indias, on the other hand, have Jasprit Bumrah back in their attack to provide them the best death overs bowling option in the world.
