If the evidence of the single game played by the Indian Legends is to be believed, the Indian Legends will go all out to try and retain the Road Safety Series. They will not leave a single stone unturned in their efforts. Almost the entire team looked to be in fine nick and this will be a warning signal for the opponents. They received good contributions from bowlers and batsmen and there were many good signs to be observed from the side. They will be looking to keep this form going right throughout the competition.

The Indian Legends batting department is in terrific form. While batting initially they scored a mammoth total of 217 runs from their quota of 20 overs against the proteas. Despite all the top-order batters contributing to the team cause, the main star of the batting line-up was Stuart Binny. He hammered 82 runs from 42 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. Others such as Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan chipped in with useful knocks of 33 and 35 runs respectively.

The Indian Legends bowling department also appeared to be in top form. They not only restricted the South African charge but also managed to pick up 9 wickets. The spinner Rahul Sharma was their best bowler when he managed to pick up 3 wickets for 17 runs. Pragyan Ojha and Munaf Patel also chipped in with a couple of wickets each. All this led to a fine bowling performance from Indian Legends against the proteas. The key players for India Legends in this game against New Zealand Legends are Rahul Sharma, Munaf Patel, Suresh Raina, and Stuart Binny.

New Zealand Legends

The New Zealand Legends are tournament debutants and things could not have been worse for them in terms of making a beginning to the tournament. Batting first, the kiwi legends failed to reach the three-figure mark collectively. They were bowled out for a paltry 99 runs score, in the match. They have made every effort to put this performance behind them and make a comeback in the tournament after winning the game against Bangladesh Legends. The Kiwi batting line-up went down like a pack of cards in the South African match. The only positive to have come from the game was the innings played by Dean Brownlie. 

Dean Brownlie's knock of 48 runs from 48 balls was the only salvaging thing for the New Zealand Legends in their first game. Barring this innings, the only other batsman that got into double figures for the kiwis was the bowler Gareth Hopkins who contributed 18 runs to the cause. It was a frantic attempt to salvage some pride for the otherwise dismal performance from New Zealand. There was pretty much nothing the kiwi bowling could do after this disastrous display by the batters. They managed to pick up a single wicket as the proteas easily chased down the target in 13.3 overs.

The New Zealand legends will have to pull up their socks and perform a lot better against India if they are to have any hopes of moving ahead in the competition. There is no better way of doing this than try and dislodge the competition favorites India Legends.
