India women vs South Africa women series has been decided in favor of India after it won a rain-affected game. That was the game where 15-year-old Shafali Verma made her presence known to the international community with a blazing knock at the top of the order.
Now, the last remaining T20 international could help South Africa get some confidence ahead of the ODI series begins.
The weather is expected to improve but it still remains a major concern for this match as well.
India Women vs South Africa Women 5th T20 International is going to be played at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat on the 4th of October 2019.
India has started to grow in stature as a T20 side and is peaking nicely in the run up to the T20 World Cup. Shafali Verma played an excellent knock of 46 in the previous match as she showed the talent which has the entire cricketing world buzzing.
She is only going to get better from here on in and could be an integral part of the Indian batting lineup moving forward. With Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Jemimah Rodriguez in the lineup, the Indian batting lineup is very strong.
In home conditions, it is certainly stronger than the South African lineup.
The biggest advantage that India has had in this series has been the form of its spinners. Poonam Yadav and Radha Yadav have been able to keep the wraps on the South African batters. Both the spinners are not afraid of giving the ball air and looking for wickets rather than just trying to contain the runs.
India can reliably give them the ball and be sure of being right in the match no matter what the situation.
Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Veda Krishnamurthy, Taniya Bhatia, Mansi Joshi, Arundhati Reddy, Anuja Patil, Poonam Yadav.
The last T20 match will be played just for pride but the South Africans must take it as an opportunity to find some answers ahead of the ODI leg of this tour. Their batters have been utterly at a loss when it comes to facing the spinners.
They either try to go too hard or go completely into their shells. Each batter must find a way that suits her the best but it must be done fast. If things continue in the same manner then the Indian bowling attack is not going to be challenged at all.
We are looking at the senior batters like Lizelle Lee, Laura Wolvaardt, and Mignon de Preez to have an impact on this game.
The South African bowling has also been quite ineffective and that is perhaps more of a surprise. There are some very talented fast bowlers in the South African side that could have made more of an impact in this series but that has not been the case.
Shabnim Ismail and Ayabonga Khaka are the two bowlers that could maybe hope to put the Indian batters on the backfoot with some more control in their bowling.
Lizelle Lee, Sune Luus, Laura Wolvaardt, Nadine de Klerk, Mignon du Preez, Lara Goodall, Anne Bosch, Sinalo Jafta, Shabnim Ismail, Ayabonga Khaka, Nondumiso Shangase.

A much better forecast is in place for the final t20 match between India Women and South Africa women. We should see a full match being played out without any interruptions from the rain.
The pitch has not had much work because of the incessant rain and so has become more amenable to the spinners with every game. This trend will continue and the spinners will play a central role in the final match as well.
We think having two world-class spinners in the side gives India a huge advantage in this match. The Indian batting lineup is also stronger than South Africa right now.
