IRE vs NZ Match Prediction - Jul 22, 2022

Ireland have been around in international cricket from quite some time but they have not really been able to leave a mark as some of the other sides have. In their most recent series, however, they were pretty good only to be left searching for favorable results. We are now left with only one match to go in New Zealand's tour of Ireland and the hosts will want to get a consolation win here.

The third and the final T20I match of the series between Ireland and New Zealand will be played on 22nd June 2022 at Belfast. Ireland have not been up to the mark in the shortest format of the game and will want to get to their best. If they are able to do so, a cracker of a contest will certainly be on the cards.

IRE vs NZ Team Previews

Ireland

Ireland may not have managed to register a win in any of their recent matches, they have certainly impressed one and all with the way they have performed in those matches. They pushed India hard in the two-match T20I series and then followed that up with a hard-fought series against the Kiwis. Having said that, they have been far from their best in this ongoing T20I series against the Kiwis and will be looking to get back to the winning ways hereon.

In the two T20I matches gone so far in the series so far, Ireland have lost both the matches. They started off with a 31-run loss in the first match and were then defeated by a towering margin of 88-runs in their subsequent match. They have looked far from fluent in both the departments of the game and given how long they have been out on the field cumulatively, fatigue might well be creeping in.

On paper, though, Ireland have an immaculately balanced side that can get past even the best in this shortest format of the game. Paul Stirling has been one of the better batsmen of the format in recent times and a lot will depend on how he does in this upcoming match. Apart from him, Harry Tector has impressed one and all in the limited time he has spent at the crease.

On the bowling front as well, the Irishmen have done well with the likes of Mark Adair and Joshua Little contributing well. Having said that, they still have not been at their best in any department of the game and will want to step up their game. If they are able to do that in this only remaining game, beating them could prove to be a very challenging task.

Ireland Playing 11

Lorcan Tucker, Harry Tector, PR Stirling, Andy Balbirnie, George Dockrell, Gareth Delany, Curtis Campher, Craig Young, Mark Adair, Joshua Little, Barry McCarthy.

New Zealand

New Zealand were the finalists in the last T20 World Cup and the way they have done in the shortest format of this tour should really ignite a lot of confidence amongst the players. After a relatively hard-fought run in the ODIs, they bounced back to their best in the T20Is, registering a couple of back to back high-margin wins. They would want to continue building on that and close the series 3-0.

On paper, the Kiwis might not be at their full-strength, but they have plenty of resources available to topple even the best in the business. The likes of Lockie Ferguson and Glenn Phillips have just been brilliant and would want to continue to build on their form. Dane Cleaver scored a clean fifty in the last match and that should inspire some confidence in the Kiwi middle-order. All in all, they have a decent side at their disposal and if they are able to play to their potential, getting past them could prove to be a very difficult task.

New Zealand Playing 11

Martin Guptill, Finn Allen, Dane Cleaver, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Blair Tickner, Jacob Duffy.

IRE vs NZ Betting Tips

This is practically a dead-rubber in the context of the series but both sides would want to register a win here. Ireland would want to salvage a consolation win to give something to their fans to cheer about and New Zealand would want to win the series 3-0 to showcase their dominance. Regardless of what is at stake, both sides are expected to come out hard at each other and a moth watering contest is certainly on the cards. Keeping how the two sides have played and their respective team combinations into consideration, we would be placing our bets on a New Zealand win and so should you.
