It is no surprise that the Jaffna Kings are the favorites going into this contest.

Jaffna Kings have won both their matches without their batting really coming into its own. Avisha Kernando and Sadira Samarwickrama are the only players to have scored a fifty and a couple of players have played attractive cameos but there is no one that really stood out. Dhananjaya de Silva, Dunith Weallage, Shoaib Malik, and Ashan Radhika have shown some decent form so far.

We do think the Kings have one of the stronger batting lineups on paper but it has not been tested so far and we would just wait for a while before going all in on it.

The real reason why the Jaffna Kings have dominated so much is thanks to their bowling unit. James Fuller, Maheesh Theekshana, and Vijaykanth Viyaskanth have been phenomenal for them. They have picked up wickets regularly and kept the scoring rates down.

The Dambulla Aura lineup has not had the easiest of times in LPL 2022 as can be seen from their results. Overseas players like Sikandar Raza, Paul van Meekeren, and Noor Ahmad have disappointed with their performances while the domestic players have not really done anything of note either.

Dasun Shanaka, Jamie Cox, Tom Abell, and Shevon Daniel are all a part of the batting lineup but the focus will be on Bhanuka Rajapaksa. As someone who has influenced so many games for his IPL franchise and the Sri Lanka national team recently, Rajapaksa will be the one that would be expected to score the important runs.

Among the bowlers, Lahiru Kumara is the standout with four wickets but he also been one of the most expensive in the squad. All of the other bowlers need to do better and help ease the pressure on the batters a bit .
