Jaffna Kings

Jaffna Kings have a strong batting lineup and we saw the evidence of that in the previous match as well. Rahmanullah Gurbaz is destructive at the top and is well supported by Avishka Fernando, Shoaib Malik, and Thisara Perera. In fact, even youngsters like Samarwickrama and Randika have batted well. 

In terms of batting strength, the Jaffna Kings are right up there as one of the best in LPL 2022. 

While the focus has been on their batting, it is the bowling lineup that has stolen the show. James Fuller, Maheesh Theekshana, Vijaykanth Viyaskanth, and Asitha Fernando are formidable as a unit. Fuller and Theekshana have been able to pick up wickets regularly and keep the runs down as well. 

We like the Jaffna Kings as a team. They are well-rounded and currently in excellent form. 

Kandy Warriors

The Kandy Falcons scored 193 in the previous match and ended up winning by 77 runs! That is a massive victory that has helped their net run rate skyrocket. We think the Falcons have a very good batting lineup as well but it is just a shade less impressive than the Kings. 

Andre Fletcher, Kamindu Mendis, and Ashen Bandara have played well but we worry about their consistency. Wanindu Hasaranga is also a genuine all-rounder in the LPL and could make an impact with the bat. 

Among the bowlers, two names that you may not have expected are currently leading the way for the Falcons. Carlos Brathwaite and Chamika Karunaratne have been stunning with the ball in almost all the matches. With Isuru Udana, Fabian Allen, and Wanindu Hasaranga also in the lineup, the bowling unit is capable of putting up a strong fight against the Jaffna Kings.
