The Jamaica Tallawahs finally managed to win their first match against the Barbados Tridents. They will now come up against the form team of the tournament, the Guyana Amazon Warriors. As things stand in the Caribbean Premier League right now, the Guayana Amazon Warriors are at the top of the table with four wins from four matches.
The Jamaica Tallawahs are right at the bottom with just one win from five matches.
The four lower sides are separated by just one victory right now so there is plenty of time for things to change. A win in this match could propel the Jamaica Tallawahs to fourth or even third place.
Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors CPL 2019 is going to be played at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica on the 18th of September 2019.
The Jamaica Tallawahs made some important changes to their bowling lineup and it paid off in the previous match against the Barbados Tridents. Christopher Lamont, George Worker, Zahir Khan, Ramaal Lewis, and Derval Green all bowled quite well to restrict the Barbados tridents to just 140.
This was not a big target by any stretch of the imagination although the Jamaica Tallawahs were missing Andre Russell and Rovman Powel from their lineup.
Chadwick Walton scored 51 from 42 deliveries with five sixes to help his side over the line and was helped by Chris Gayle, Glenn Phillips, and Javelle Glen down the order.
The task against the Guyana Amazon Warriors is going to be much more difficult. There is no clarity whether Andre Russell and Rovman Powell are expected to play, Having those two adds a lot of batting depth even if they have not quite produced the results in CPL 2019 so far.
The form of Chadwick Walton is a big plus and we have already seen the kind of destruction that Chris Gayle and Glenn Phillips are capable of. The Jamaica Tallawahs would be relieved to finally have a good bowling performance under their belt and we think they can continue to win if their bowling attack continues in the same vein.
Chris Gayle, GD Phillips, CAK Walton, George Worker, Dwayne Smith, Andre Russell, Ramaal Lewis, Jade Dernbach, Oshane Thomas, Zahir Khan, Javelle Glen.
The spinners were expected to dominate the proceedings in St.Kitts and that is exactly what happened. Qais Ahmed, Imran Tahir, and Chris Green picked up seven wickets between the three of them at an extremely attractive economy rate.
This meant that the St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots were never able to get going in their batting.
Chasing down 122 was never expected to be tough for the Guyana Amazon Warriors and they ended up doing so in under 16 overs. Shimron Hetmyer may have missed out in this small chase but all the other batsmen got a start and that would have pleased the team management quite a lot.
The Guyana Amazon Warrior batting does not have the same big names as the Jamaica Tallawahs but it is certainly in excellent form. Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran are the two names to stand out in this lineup while Sherfane Rutherford is our value pick in this side.
Rutherford bats down the order and there are going to be a number of matches where he does not get a go at all but he has the explosive power to make the most of whatever opportunities he does get and make a real impact.
The bowling lineup for the Guyana Amazon Warriors is going to be a big advantage. Bowlers like Imran Tahir, Keemo Paul, Chris Green, and Qais Ahmed are experienced T20 players that are very difficult to score off.
The real contest is going to be between the big hitters of the Jamaica Tallawahs and the Guyana Amazon Warriors bowling unit.
Brandon King, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shimron Hetmyer, Shoaib Malik, Nicholas Pooran, Sherfane Rutherford, Keemo Paul, Christopher Green, Odean Smith, Qais Ahmad, Imran Tahir.
The team that wins the toss can be expected to bat first as that is when the pitch seems to be at its best for batting.

Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors CPL 2019 is going to be played at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica on the 18th of September 2019. There is a thirty percent chance of thunderstorms predicted on match day around the time when the game is expected to start.
The forecast, though, does improve shortly after and so hopefully we will be able to get a complete match.
The pitch in Sabina Park is one of the best for batting. It took some turn in the previous match but the time off in between matches would have allowed the curators to get the surface back to its batting best.
Dream11 team and Dream11 prediction for JT vs GAW is going to assume that Andre Russell is fit and available to play. We have not included Rovman Powell in the side and stuck to the same bowling attack that Jamaica Talawahs played in the previous game. Appropriate changes may need to be made after the pitch report and toss.
We think the Jamaica Tallawahs have a chance of beating the Guyana Amazon Warriors in this match. Watch out for the pitch report and hedge on the Warriors f the surface is expected to turn a lot but taking a risk on the home team might be worth it here.
Bet on the Jamaica Tallawahs to win.
