JT vs SNP Match Prediction - Aug 31, 2022

After a well-fought bout of some entertaining cricket in the 6IXTY, we are up for another round of entertainment as the Caribbean Premier League begins in a day's time. Unlike the 6IXTY, all teams will now be available pretty much at their full-strength. We are all set for a lot closer competition this time and you wouldn't want to miss the action as well as the betting opportunities.

The first match of the CPL 2022 is to be played between Jamaica Tallawahs and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. These sides had a contrasting last season and while one will be looking for redemption this time the other one will be looking to build on the momentum. A good start can go a long way and that's exactly what both sides will be after. The match is to be played on 1st September 2022 at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts.

JT vs SNP Team Previews

Jamaica Tallawahs

Jamaica Tallawahs had a rather poor last season, winning just four out of a total of ten matches, and eventually ending up at the fifth place. They failed to make it to the next round last time and given the form they are coming off, they will be desperate to get to a winning start. A few losses early in the losses can easily spiral downwards and that is exactly what they will not want.

Jamaica Tallahwahs are coming into the competition on the back of a big change with the departures of Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite. Their absence means that there will be a lot more pressure on the likes of Rovman Powell, Fabian Allen, and Brandon King to do the bulk of the scoring. They also have Shamarh Brooks available, who had an excellent last season.

On the bowling front, they are dependent more on the overseas contingent of Chris Green and Imad Wasim, one of whom won't be available. They are well rich in spin stocks and that could be critical on a surface that is expected to be on the slower side.

All in all, the Tallawahs have a decent side with pretty much all bases covered. They have the hitting ability with the bat and the ability to pick wickets with the ball. If they can identify someone to contribute at the death, they will be one handful of a team to deal with.

Jamaica Tallawahs Playing 11

Rovman Powell, Amir Jangoo, F Allen, Imad Wasim, Brandon King, Kennar Lewis, Mohammad Amir, Shamarh Brooks, Migael Pretorius, Christopher Green, Nicholson Gordon.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots surprised one and all by winning the title in the last season, given that they were coming off a season wherein they won just one out of their ten matches. It was quite a team effort from them as almost all of their their players contributing to perfection. They were brilliant in the group stage and topped that off immaculately in the knockout stages. They would want to continue to build on that but that is not going to be easy.

Despite the title finish, the Patriots have decided to go with a rather fresh squad consisting of some of the stalwarts of the game. They have the likes of Dwaine Pretorius, Qasim Akram, and Dwayne Bravo available and that combination is going to be crucial from bowling standpoint. On the batting front, they have decided to retain Evin Lewis, who is arguably their most important man, especially with Hasaranga unavailable.

All in all, the Patriots have a good side but they might lack the explosiveness they had last year. Their is a bit of over-reliance on Evin Lewis to get the ball rolling quickly and that may backfire. They would need to be really at their best and if they can do that, they will be in business big time.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Playing 11

Dwayne Bravo, Evin Lewis, ADS Fletcher, Dewald Brevis, Darren Bravo, Sherfane Rutherford, Dwaine Pretorius, Duan Jansen, Jon Russ Jaggesar, Jaden Carmicheal, Akila Dananjaya.

JT vs SNP Betting Tips

Though these are early days in the tournament, this is an important match. The Tallawahs would want to shrug off the last season with a win their first match whereas the Patriots would have the pressure of continuing from where they left off. This has all the ingredients of a nail-biting thriller and we expect nothing less. Considering the two sides on-paper, the Tallawahs look slightly ahead. We are getting some great odds as well and a bet on their win should be the way to go here.
