Half of the tournament is done and dusted in the Mzansi Super League and Jozi Stars are yet to get off the mark in the tournament. They have five more matches to go in the tournament and will need to start winning sooner rather than later. They are set to play Tshwane Spartans in their upcoming match, which is to be played at the Wanderers, Johannesburg on 24th November. Not unlike Jozi Stars, the Spartans too haven't done well in the tournament and they too need some points in their kitty. Considering how desperate the two sides are for a win here, a nail-biting contest is certainly on the cards.
Jozi Stars have without a doubt been the worst team of the tournament, losing all of their five matches. Their extraordinarily poor net run-rate os -2.405 speaks volumes about the margins of their losses. A recent loss to Paarl Rocks has left them hanging by a thin thread and they need to do something before it's too late.
For the Stars, things have already reached the stage where they need other results to go their way along with five wins. The Stars' batting has been struggling in the tournament and despite shuffling it in the last match, their fate remained the same.
Batting first against a strong Paark Rocks side, Jozi Stars got off to a pretty decent start with Rickleton and Hendricks getting them off to a stable start with a 64-run partnership. Chris Gayle couldn't do the damage he was expected to and despite little cameos from van der Dussen and Dan Christian, they failed to get a final flourish.
It was never going to easy for the Stars to defend such a small total and it didn't prove to be any different either. Although they had Rocks on the mat with two quick wickets, Stars' total was just too small to trouble the Rocks.
Chris Gayle, Reeza Hendricks, Temba Bavuma, RVD Dussen, G Jacques Snyman, DT Christian, Sinethemba Qeshile, Lizaad Williams, Kagiso Rabada, Aaron Phangiso, Duanne Olivier.
The Spartans are still pretty much in the tournament, but unless they want to fall behind, they'd have to get a couple of wins in their next couple of matches. They are at the fourth spot on the ladder and a win here will push them to third provided a couple of other results go their way as well.
The Spartans haven't had luck going their way in the tournament so far. Out of a total of four matches they had scheduled, only one got completed wherein they registered a massive win over Paarl Rocks.
Tshwane Spartans have a batting lineup that is second to none. Despite being set a total of 186 runs to chase, they never looked under-pressure. Theunis de Bruyn and Dean Elgar were rilliant upfront as they put together a superb 104-run partnership. They lost AB de Villiers soon thereafter, but it didn't have any impact whatsoever on the result.
Heinrich Klaasen, Theunis de Bruyn, Dean Elgar, AB de Villiers, PJ van Biljon, RE Van Der Merwe, Wiaan Mulder, Tom Curran, Morne Morkel, Lungi Ngidi, Lutho Sipamla.

It is an important match of the tournament for both the sides, more so for the Stars. Stars have one last chance to hang in this tournament and unless they win against Tshwane Spartans. However, they haven't showed their potency in the tournament yet. Considering how the two teams have done in their previous matches and the batting lineup the Spartans have, it would be tough to get past the Spartarns. Going all in on Tshwane Spartans would be the way to go in this upcoming fixture.
