Kent is locked in a fierce battle with Sussex and Surrey for the top spot in the South group. Only net run-rate separates these three teams at the moment and so every single match becomes very important. Kent is going to be playing against Middlesex in this next match.
Sitting behind the top-3 in the South Group is Middlesex with two wins to its name. It has been playing some decent cricket but is in a very tough group. Can it make the step up in this match and challenge a red-hot Kent team?
Kent vs Middlesex T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at the St. Lawrence Ground, Canterbury on the 16th of September 2020.
Zak Crawley has been threatening to score a big one in the T20 Blast this entire season and finally managed to do so in the previous match against Hampshire. He smashed 108 not out from just 54 deliveries and made a chase of 183 looks like a walk in the park.
He is the star of a strong batting lineup that has the likes of Daniel Bell-Drummond, Joe Denly, Heino Kuhn, Alex Blake, and Jack leaning in there as well. Kent has been able to get enough runs in almost every single match it has played.
There is no dependency on just one or two players and the current form of most of the lineup is very good as well.
Imran Qayyum and Fred Klaassen are the leading bowlers for Kent. With the return of Joe Denly into the side, Kent has more flexibility and can change things around if one of the bowlers is having a bad game.
Keeping the momentum and intensity going is going to be the main challenge for Kent from here on in.
Zak Crawley, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Joe Denly, Heino Kuhn, Alex Blake, Jack Leaning, JM Cox, Grant Stewart, Matt Milnes, Imran Qayyum, Fred Klaassen.
Middlesex scored 188 in the previous match but still ended up losing by 30 runs. Stephen Eskinazi made 77 from just 44 deliveries but did not get the support he needed from the other batsmen. As a result, Middlesex slumped to yet another defeat.
It is a surprise that Middlesex is having such a tough time with its bowling in this season of the Blast. They have some very good bowlers like Steven Finn, Tim Murtagh, and Nathan Sowter to call upon. These bowlers have been good in patches but have been unable to hit their lines over an extended period.
As a result, we think Middlesex’s batsmen have been left too much to do.
Whether someone like Max Holden, John Simpson, or Jack Davies is able to step up and provide the support needed to Eskinazi or whether the bowling attack can rediscover its form will decide how competitive Middlesex is in this match.
Max Holden, Stephen Eskinazi, Joe Cracknell, John Simpson, Martin Andersson, Nathan Sowter, Thomas Helm, ST Finn, Miguel Cummins, TJ Murtagh, Luke Hollman.
The team that wins the toss is almost certainly going to want to bat second. The chasing team has won the match in all the matches played here this season of the T20 Blast.

An excellent day with clear skies has been forecast for Canterbury for match day. We should be able to enjoy a complete match without any rain delays whatsoever. The pitch is an excellent batting pitch which does not change at all during the course of the match.
Defending totals is difficult as the ball flies off the bat and the boundaries are pretty small as well.
We are going to stick with Kent in this match. They are the obvious favorites and for good reason. It is difficult to see Middlesex improve so quickly in such a short time. The batting lineup of Kent is very strong and going to be playing in home conditions.
Bet on Kent to win.
