About the Match

Kent Suffered a five-wicket defeat in their last match against Sussex; They are currently placed at 7th in the south group with 9 points and will compete against Hampshire on Friday, who are placed at 4th position on the points table with 11 points. Hampshire did well in their last game against Glamorgan as they won the match convincingly by 8 wickets; they lost the game against Essex by 4 wickets but have done well to recover. Kent, on the other hand, lost their last match to Sussex but won against Hampshire when the two teams met the last time.

The Kent bowling department seems to be strong on paper with the names like James Neesham, Darren Stevens, Coles, Claydon, and Tredwell; but were still unable to defend the target of 163 against Sussex. Neesham has provided one breakthrough in the beginning but partnership of 88 runs between Chris Nash and Ben Brown took away the match from Kent. Billings showcased his batting skills by posting 74 runs off 40 balls but they lost in the end by 5 wickets. Batting Line-up includes players like Sam Billings, Alex Blake, and Bell-Drummond, who are doing well in the tournament. In the previous match against Hampshire Bell-Drummond posted 62 runs off just 42 balls to propel the team total of respectable 160-runs which they eventually defended by five runs. Spinners in the team like Imran Qayyum and Joe Denly add depth to the attack. Adam Milne is in the pace bowling option for them. They can strategize to bring up the best combination against Hampshire on Friday as they will be looking to register yet another win against them.

After Losing consecutive matches against Essex and Kent, Hampshire did well against Glamorgan to win the match by 8 wickets in just 13.5 overs. They did well in all the three departments; from the bowling department Liam Dawson and Mason Crane shared 6 wickets between them which helped Hampshire to restrict Glamorgan for a paltry total of just 119 runs. In the batting department James Vince’s knock of 60 runs off 41 balls sealed the game for them. The batting line-up has other experienced players like George Bailey, Dawson and McManus down the order which can come in handy in crunch situations. Against Essex even after the remarkable batting performance by George Bailey, 89 runs of 62 balls which helped them to get to 168 runs, thereafter bowlers failed to show their skills and lost the match by 4 wickets. In their match against Kent, while chasing 159 runs, they fell short of 5 runs despite of some good partnerships. Despite the mixed run so far, they have managed to stay at the top-half of the table; they will be eager to put up a better show here against Kent to improve their position.

Our Prediction

Both the teams have strong batting and bowling units. Though the match could go down to the last over, Hampshire have a little edge over Kent with its phenomenal batting line-up to register its first win against Kent in the tournament

Winner: Hampshire, 1.8 @ Bet on Hampshire now
