The battle for the top spot in the last edition of T20 Blast was fought well and hard by Somerset and Kent, and the two teams are set to face each other off for the first time in the current edition of the tournament. The match will be played on Saturday, 20th July at St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury. While Somerset are coming off a massive victory in their first match, Kent are yet to feature in the tournament. The two teams have had a history of producing humdingers, and we don't expect it to be anything different this time around is well.
Just like Somerset, Kent, too, have a batting lineup that most teams of the tournament would be the envy of. Their opening pair, Joe Denly and Daniel Bell-Drummond has plenty of experience behind them and are regarded as two of the most explosive batsmen in the English domestic circuit.
Alongside their explosive opening pair, they have the likes of Heino Kuhn and Sam Billings to follow making their batting a robust unit to bowl to. The presence of Alex Blake and Marcus Stoinis adds to the depth of their batting lineup.
While they appear to be a bit light on the bowling front, the vast number of options available for the skipper provides them with plenty of comfort. Adam Milne, the Kiwi quick bowler, will lead their pace bowling with excellent support available in both spin and pace departments.
Daniel Bell-Drummond, Zak Crawley, Ollie Robinson, Mohammad Nabi, Alex Blake, Sean Dickson, JM Cox, Adam Milne, Hardus Viljoen, Imran Qayyum, Fred Klaassen.
The addition of Babar Azam worked miraculously for Somerset as he partnered well with Tom Banton to produce a match-winning opening stand for them. Somerset eventually won the match with eight wickets and plenty of balls to spare in context of the game.
Lewis Gregory, their regular skipper, will not be available to play in the upcoming fixture as he will be away on national duty to represent England for the Ireland test. Despite that, however, Somerset have a pretty balanced unit covering all departments of the game.
In their first match, Tom Banton, Babar Azam, and Peter Trego were the chief contributors for them with the bat. In addition to that, James Hildreth has been in enterprising form since last season and is expected to play a vital role not just in the upcoming fixture but in all the coming matches. In addition to an immaculate batting lineup, they have a lethal bowling attack consisting of Jamie Overturn and Jerome Taylor who were known to make early inroads in the last edition of the tournament. The management, as well as the fans, will be hoping for a similar kind of performance from them.
Babar Azam, Tom Banton, PD Trego, JC Hildreth, TB Abell, Tom Lammonby, RE Van Der Merwe, Craig Overton, Jamie Overton, Jerome Taylor, MTC Waller.

These two teams finished at the top two positions in the last edition of Vitality T20 Blast and the contest between the two sides has always been mouth-watering. Having said that, Kent has been the more successful team in the head to head battles, winning 11 out of 15 matches played. Kent also happen to have an undefeated record against Somerset at this venue. While the two teams are almost neck and neck on paper, the past success will motivate Kent to do well and would put Somerset under that wee-bit of extra pressure and, therefore, we think that the Spitfires are better placed to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
