About the Match
This Friday, Sunrisers face Kings XI of Panjab in what may well turn out to be a cracker of a game. The game is to be played on 19th April at Hyderabad. Sunrisers have won the game and have risen to a spot where no one expected them to be whereas Kings XI lost in continuation before registering their last ball win over KKR. Both the teams have one thing in common, that is, poor batting display. Again it would be very interesting to see how the teams perform and much would be decided by the way they bat.
Kings XI Punjab:
It is an away game and surely there won’t be any support for Punjab. So far, they haven’t played and it’s time for their batsmen to score runs. They won the last game despite Narine’s hat trick many thanks to Praveen’s excellent death bowling. KXIP has the firepower in the batting with Hussey and Gilchrist at the top with Mahmood to follow, but haven’t delivered so far. Their bowling seems good enough with Piyush Chawla, Mahmood and Praveen. They just have to perform as a team and when they do that, they’d be a very difficult side to beat!
Unexpectedly, Sunrisers have managed to get as far as they are now and without their batsmen firing, they’ve managed to stay at third place. Without many big names, but due to team effort, SRH has won 4 games out of 6 they’ve played so far. Their bowling is led by the likes of Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra who, as of now, haven’t disappointed. They’d be getting very important home support from the local crowd too. Only problem for them seems to be their weak batting, but it is very well counter-balanced by their superb bowling.
It has been an excellent season for Sunrisers and not so for Kings XI Punjab. Kings XI has the players, but it appears that it lacks the big hitters required for this version of the game. They’ve been bowled out twice in four matches and their batting has failed in the other two too. Their bowling, although has performed well so far, cannot be trusted due to lack of experience and the nature of format. Sunrisers have a better side with power hitters like White and Perera and well-balanced bowling attack. This time I expect Sunrisers to emerge victorious and would place my money on them.
