PSL 2019 in Karachi has lived up to all expectations and is providing an excellent exhibition of T20 cricket. The Karachi Kings have been well supported but all the other sides playing have also found a lot of love from the cricket-starved public.
Karachi Kings won an absolute thriller against Quetta Gladiators in the previous match and showed once again that every single side is capable of beating the other in the Pakistan Super League. The Karachi Kings are now going to be taking on Peshawar Zalmi in this match, in a match that really does not hold too much significance in the larger scheme of things.
Both the teams have now qualified for the PSL semi-finals and even the top-2 slots are all but done. Peshawar Zalmi is in second place on the PSL standings right now their net run-rate is so much better than the Karachi Kings that it is going to take something truly dramatic for the Karachi Kings to overturn that advantage.
The big players were out to impress for the Karachi Kings in their previous match. Babar Azam led the way with 56 while Colin Munro scored a quick 30 at the top of the order as well. The real impetus to the inning was provided by Colin Ingram who smashed 24 runs off just 10 deliveries and Iftikhar Ahmed who remained unbeaten with 44 runs off just 18 deliveries.
In the end, Karachi Kings managed to end on a total of 190 which was about 10 runs over par in our opinion.
That total should have ended up being more than enough when Shane Watson got out early but Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal seemed to have other ideas. Aamer Yamin and Shail Khan were taken to cleaners as they failed to keep the pressure on the Quetta batsmen. Even Usman Shinwari went for plenty of runs before redeeming himself with a nerveless last over where he defended four runs with set batsmen at the other end.
Imad Wasim was back to his miserly best and gave away just 17 runs in his four overs. Mohammad Amir was not a part of the side but we expect him to be in the playing eleven for this encounter.
The Karachi Kings may have qualified for the PSL semi-final but they will not want to lose any momentum at this stage of the competition. They are going to be playing Islamabad United in all probability and will want all their players in the best state of mind for that crucial encounter.
SI Wasim, Babar Azam, Ben Dunk, Colin Ingram, Colin Munro, Iftikhar Ahmed, Liam Livingstone, Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan, Umer Khan, Usman Khan.
Peshawar Zalmi is in second place on the PSL League table right now and could end up being first if they win their last league match against the Karachi Kings. There is a small statistical possibility that Peshawar Zalmi may slip down to third place if they face a very heavy defeat to the Karachi Kings but we don’t think they are going to be worried about that.
Peshawar Zalmi has traditionally been at its best during the final stages of the Pakistan Super League and they certainly have the players to go all the way this time as well. We are quite excited to see what their strong batting lineup can do in Pakistan.
Players like Kamran Akmal, Kieron Pollard, Imam-ul Haq, and Darren Sammy are going to be quite difficult to stop on the flat batting deck. Kamran Akmal has been one of the best batsmen in the entire Pakistan Super League history and we think he is a good bet to come good in this last league match.
Peshawar Zalmi can play freely without any pressure of losing. They are also going to have another shot at making the PSL final in all likelihood.
There would a little concern over the collapse that they suffered in the previous match before Misbah had to bail them out. Some things never change, do they!
Hasan Ali, Tymal Mills, and Wahab Riaz are going to be the bowlers to watch out for. We have seen in Karachi that bowlers that bowl fast are being taken for runs if they are not able to keep a consistent line and length.
Peshawar Zalmi does not have a very strong bowling attack and it will be the batsmen that will have to do most of the heavy lifting for them.
Imam-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Umar Amin, Sohaib Maqsood, LA Dawson, Kieron Pollard, DJG Sammy, Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, TS Mills, Sameen Gul.

The PSL 2019 match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar is going to be played at the National Stadium, Karachi. The weather is expected to be excellent for cricket with no chance of rain forecast. The pitch in Karachi has been excellent for batting. The ball has come on to the bat pretty nicely and the outfield has been very quick as well.
Two of the strongest batting units in the entire tournament are going to be battling on a flat batting wicket and so we can expect a lot of runs to be scored.
The Karachi Kings are playing in front of their home crowd, have been used to the conditions for a longer time, and are also going to be bolstered b the return of Mohammad Amir. We think the batting is strong on both sides but if the Karachi Kings can keep Kamran Akmal quiet then they should be able to win this match as well.
Back the Karachi Kings to win.
