KK vs QG Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Mar 10, 2019

The Pakistan Super League 2019 is about to start its Pakistani leg and there is a lot of excitement around. A great many foreign players have decided to make the trip to Pakistan, giving the matches in Pakistan more hype than has been seen in a long time. The second match of the Pakistani Leg will see the Karachi Kings take on the Quetta Gladiators.

The Quetta Gladiators have confirmed their place in the PSL Playoffs 2019 and are in fact, assured of a top-2 spot as well. This means that the Quetta Gladiators will get two chances to make it to the PSL final 2019 after playing their last league game in Karachi.

The Karachi Kings are going to be very well supported in their true home city. They are currently on fourth place in the PSL 2019 League standings and would like to win both their remaining league games to stay ahead of the Lahore Qalandars.

KK vs QG Team Previews

Karachi Kings

An absolutely brilliant bowling performance from the Karachi Kings in their previous match knocked the Multan Sultans out of contention for a PSL 2019 playoff spot. Usman Shinwari and Umer Khan lead the way taking seven wickets between them but each and every bowler contributed to the win.

Aaron Summers was the only bowler to go for runs as his economy rate of 9.25 suggests while Imad Wasim, Aamer Yamin, and the others all gave runs at less than 6.00 runs an over. Mohammad Amir was unavailable for the previous match because of the passing of his mother but he is expected to play the remaining two PSL league matches in Karachi.

The Karachi Kings have a very strong bowling attack and can expect to give the strong Quetta Gladiators a run for their money.

The batting will have to at its best if the Karachi Kings have to put one over the Quetta Gladiators. There are some very good batsmen in the Karachi Kings starting with Babar Azam. The world’s top-rated T20 batsman has had a good PSL but not lived up to the high standards he has set in International cricket.

Liam Livingstone, with 280 runs to his name, is the third highest run-scorer in the PSL and is currently the man leading the charge for the Karachi Kings. Colin Munro and Colin Ingram are also coming to Karachi to play in front of their franchise’s home crown and that is a big boost to the side.

Munro is a very dangerous player while Ingram has shown the immense power he has at his disposal in PSL 2019 already. This is a very strong top-4 backed up by some promising batsmen like Imad Wasim, Mohammad Rizwan, and Iftikhar Ahmed.

Quetta Gladiators

The reason that the Quetta Gladiators have been so dominant in PSL 2019 has to do with their top-players performing according to expectations. Shane Watson is the highest run-scorer in PSL 2019 right now with 330 runs to his name while Sohail Tanvir is the second highest wicket-taker of the PSL.

Apart from Watson, players like Rilee Rossow, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, and Ahmed Shehzad have also played some important innings to help win matches for their sides. This means that most of the batsmen from the Quetta Gladiators are in good touch.

We worry a little about how Shane Watson will perform in Pakistan. He is not a player that does very well with off the field pressure and having so much security cover around him might mess with his head a little.

All the foreign players from the Quetta Gladiators squad are making the trip to Pakistan which means that a successful combination is not going to be rattled.

The bowling for the Quetta Gladiators has been a bit inconsistent. They have had some very good matches and some forgettable ones but there is no doubt that Sohail Tanvir and Dwayne Bravo are going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Tanvir has become a T20 master as he plays around the world while Bravo loves to bowl his slower ball variations around the sub-continent. If Fawad Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz can continue to be consistent then it gives license to a young fast bowler like Mohammad Husnain to charge in and look for wickets from the first ball.

The Quetta Gladiators are an excellent team as their results in PSL 2019 suggest but they need to be a bit careful to guard against complacency against a very good Karachi Kings side.

Pitch and Conditions

The PSL 2019 match between the Karachi Kings and the Quetta Gladiators is going to be played at the National Stadium, Karachi. The weather forecast for match day is excellent and there is next to no chance of rain.

The pitch in Karachi should be good for batting with some help in it for the spinners as well. The venue for the PSL matches in Pakistan was changed at short notice and it will be interesting to see what kind of surface the groundsman has been able to prepare.

KK vs QG Betting Tips

The Quetta Gladiators will be favorites for this match as they should be looking at their current form and the well-balanced nature of their side. We think, however, the Karachi Kings are yet to play to their full potential and have a very strong side as well. The shift to Pakistan also gives the Karachi Kings an opportunity to surprise the Quetta Gladiators.

Back the Karachi Kings to win.
