The Karachi Kings started their PSL2020 campaign in style as Babar Azam led from the front and showed just how much of a factor he can be this season. They will
Now be up against the Quetta Gladiators, a team that won its opening match but lost its most recent one to Peshawar Zalmi.
Three matches in three days is something that teams have to get used to as the PSL schedule is demanding for almost everyone.
Can the Quetta Gladiators get back to winning ways in this match or will the Karachi Kings continue their strong start to the season? One thing is sure that the difference between different teams seems to be lesser than in previous PSL seasons.
Karachi Kings vs Quetta Gladiators PSL 2020 is going to be played at the National Stadium, Karachi on the 23rd of February 2020.
Babar Azam scores a brilliant fifty in the opening match and set the tone for the season early. Babar is in the form of his life and loves playing at home. He has not been able to stamp his presence on the PSL in previous seasons and this could be his time.
Imad Wasim is the captain for the second consecutive season and we are a little concerned about his tendency to try and take responsibility in every situation. He batted high up and was able to get runs quickly while also holding himself back for the death overs with the ball.
A risk that the captain faces is to try and shoulder every responsibility himself because a loss starts to increase the pressure very quickly.
Mohammad Amir was a bit off-color with the ball but Chris Jordan and Umaid Asif were fantastic.
There is a lot of depth in the Karachi Kings side in both the batting and the bowling. Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan were scheduled to bat at 6 and 7 respectively proving that the team can still score runs if. Baat Azam fails.
Six bowlers bowled in the previous match but the lack of impact that Arshad Khan had would maybe force Imad Wasim himself to bowl his full quota in the upcoming match.
Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan, C Delport, SI Wasim, CAK Walton, Iftikhar Ahmed, AD Hales, Umaid Asif, Mohammad Amir, Chris Jordan, Arshad Iqbal.
It is not too often that Jason Roy bats the entire 20 overs and does not get his team to a win. Unfortunately for the Quetta Gladiators, Roy could only score at a strike rate of 128.07 in the previous match.
Quetta Gladiators were at the recording end of a brilliant bowling performance and could not score freely. Shane Watson, Ahmed Shehzad, Azam Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz all failed to have any impact on the scorecard.
The absence of Umar Akmal and the lack of runs from Watson and Shehzad is becoming a serious problem for the Gladiators. The batting looks weak and can be put under pressure. Even Jason Roy is not the kind of batsman from whom a lot of consistency is expected.
The bowlers tried well to try and defend a par total in the previous match but Kamran Akmal pretty much unstoppable.
The bowling for the Quetta Gladiators is being led by the teenager Mohammad Hasnain. He was very accurate once again and difficult to score off. With Tymal Mills, Fawad Ahmed, Sohail Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz in the side, the Quetta Gladiators bowling is not weak.
It is, however, not the strongest we have seen in PSL 2020 either.
JJ Roy, SR Watson, Ahmed Shehzad, Sarfraz Ahmed, Azam Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Sohail Khan, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, TS Mills.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

The weather in Karachi is expected to be very good on match day. There is next to no chance of rain and the pitch should continue to be good for batting.
Totals of close to 200 have been scored quite regularly in the matches held here so far. There also appears to be no real advantage to batting first or chasing at the venue.
We are going to stick with the Karachi Kings in this match. Babar Azam’s form is just too good to ignore and he could be the difference once again.
The Karachi Kings need to be vigilant about their bowling, though, and that is a risk worth taking.
Bet on the Karachi Kings to win.
