KKR vs CSK Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Apr 14, 2019

The Chennai Super Kings have been the best team of the IPL by a fair margin. They have managed to play to their strengths and emerged winners from tense situations. They already have six wins from seven matches and just need two more to be sure of qualification. Chennai is going to be traveling to Kolkata to try and beat the Kolkata Knight Riders in this match.
The Knight Riders have hit a speedbump in their IPL 2019 campaign. They have lost their last two matches and are now within reach of a number of trailing teams. A poor performance in Chennai and some key missing personnel against Delhi would have left them a bit worried.
This will be the second time that Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders will be playing against each other in a matter of five days. The conditions could not be more different though and KKR will definitely be keen to get some revenge at their home ground.
KKR vs CSK Team Previews
Kolkata Knight Riders
IPL 2019 is going to be defined by what Andre Russell has been able to achieve. He has been unstoppable this year and has led Kolkata to a number of victories single-handedly. No other player has hit more sixes, has a better strike-rate, or has had more impact on matches than Andre Russell.
It is worth remembering that Andre Russell could have been out cheaply against Chennai in the last match they played had Harbhajan Singh clung on to a swirling high-catch. He eventually did manage to get to 50 but at a lower strike rate than against any other team. Russell is going to be attacked with some quality spin once again and will be tested severely.
Shubman Gill was given a chance at the top of the order against Delhi and he played a brilliant inning. He should retain that position for the next few matches even if Lynn makes a comeback. Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn should come back into the side if they are fit which would mean that Joe Denly and Carlos Brathwaite miss out.
The team certainly appears stronger with Lynn and Narine in the side but we will have to see about their availability on match day itself.
Kolkata also faltered with its bowling plans. Prasiddh Krishna has not been in the wickets and the overseas pace bowlers have not been very good either. Harry Gurney started very well for KKR but has since struggled to receive regular chances for the side ever since.
Kolkata has no reason to panic just yet but it needs to stop the slide before it gets any worse.

Chennai Super Kings
Chennai came into IPL 2019 with almost the same set of players it won with in 2018. They are the oldest side in the IPL, in terms of age, and don’t have any new age T20 superstars either. Yet, they somehow find a way to keep winning.
In their previous match, Chennai needed 18 runs off the last over with Mitchell Santner and Ravindra Jadeja about to face the bulk of the deliveries. Santner smashed a six off the last ball when three runs were required and won CSK the match.
The only match that Chennai has lost so far was against Mumbai at a pitch with some bounce in it. The playing surface at the Eden Gardens is going to be very similar to the one in Mumbai as well.
Such a surface makes run scoring a lot easier and that is not Chennai’s strength. Their batting has not clicked just yet. Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, and Amabati Rayadu are all very experienced T20 players but they have not hit been at their best.
Watson has been out in the powerplay more than any other batsman in IPL 2019. He needs to find his hitting range sooner rather than later for Chennai to be more comfortable with their batting.
While there are a few questions over the Chennai batting, there are no concerns over the bowling. Deepak Chahar has been sensational with the new ball while Imran Tahir has been very good during the middle overs.
Shardul Thakur has struggled a little this year and so we might see Scott Kuggeleijn make a come back into the side. Harbhajan Singh has not been played in games away from Chennai where the surface is not helpful to spin and so he may continue to warm the bench for this match.

SR Watson, Faf du Plessis, SK Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, SN Thakur, Imran Tahir.
KKR vs CSK Toss Prediction
The side winning the toss is almost certainly going to try and bat second to take advantage of any dew that appears. Chasing has been the more successful choice for both these sides as well.

Pitch and Conditions
KKR vs CSK IPL 2019 is going to be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The weather forecast for the match is very good and we are unlikely to have any weather-related interruptions. The dew is going to be high and that will help the chasing team once again.
The pitch at the Eden gardens is excellent for batting. The ground is also pretty small and that can add up to some very big totals being made. 180-190 should be considered as a par score at this venue.
KKR vs CSK Dream11 Prediction
The Dream 11 picks for Kolkata Knight Riders versus Chennai Super Kings take into account the current form and the likely conditions which we will see at the Eden Gardens. The match is likely to be a high scoring one where the role of the spinners is going to be minimal.
Wicketkeeper: The choise of the wicketkeeper is between Dinesh Karthink and MS Dhoni. We have chosen Dhoni because Karthik has not been in the best of form in IPL 2019. MS Dhoni is also a part of a batting lineup where he is more regularly required to make a contribution.
Batsmen: We have chosen the maximum of five batsmen allowed. Shane Watson, Faf de Plessis, Robin Uthappa, Joe Denly, and Shubman Gill are the players we have decided on. All of these batsmen are top-order batters that can play a long inning.
Shane Watson is a little out of form but the small boundaries at the Eden Gardens and the fast pitch could be to his liking.
All-Rounders: Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are the two all-rounders we have picked. We expect Sunil Narine to be fit for this match while there is no one that can ignore the unstoppable Andre Russell in IPL 2019.
Bowlers: {icking three bowlers was a bit more difficult than we though. Imran Tahir is one of the leading wicket takers in IPL 2019 and is used as an attacking option by Dhoni. Lockie Ferguson and Kuldeep Yadav have not had the best of time this season but we think they are both far too good to continue remaining out of the action. They could also help distinguish the team from the competition and propel it upward in the rankings.

KKR vs CSK Betting Tips
Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders are very strong teams. They are two of the top-3 sides on the IPL League table and have a number of match winners in them. We believe that Chennai is a bit vulnerable on fast, bouncy, pitches. Its batting is vulnerable and is lacking in power when compared to Kolkata. The home team has the advantage here.
Back the Kolkata Knight Riders to win.
