The Indian Premier League is the biggest T20 tournament in the world and it has a collection of the world’s best players year after year. IPL 2019 is being played in the shadow of the ICC World Cup 2019 but every major cricketing nation is going to be well represented and there is going to an unofficial break in the international calendar for the majority of the tournament.
The second match of IPL 2019 is going to be played between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Kolkata Knight Riders finished third in IPL 2018 after losing in Qualifier 2 and will be hoping to do a bit better this time around. The team they lost to is incidentally the team they will be kicking off their IPL 2019 campaign against.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad topped the league stages in IPL 2018 but lost in the IPL Final to the Chennai Super Kings. They have been one of the best and most consistent sides of the IPL over the last few years and would like to start their 2019 season with a win.
KKR vs SRH IPL 2019 may not have the buzz around it that some of the other matches are going to have but this has become a pretty decent rivalry over the last few years. KKR bet big on some young names mixed in with some T20 superstars for IPL 2018 and it paid off. The form of Dinesh Karthik was a big factor to them doing well in the competition but newcomers like Shubman Gill also showed just why they are rated so highly by everyone in cricketing circles.
For IPL 2019, KKR has added some excellent players to its squad and filled in a few gaps.
The best performers of 2018 are all in the side. Dinesh Karthik, Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, and Shubman Gill form a very strong batting unit. The Indian batsmen are of a very high quality without necessarily being Indian national team regulars and that is a priceless asset to have in the league.
If players like Rana, Gill, and Uthappa can continue to improve in IPL 2019 then KKR should have too many problems in scoring runs. Andre Russell should be fully fit by the time the first IPL 2019 match rolls around and add the all-round option to the side as well.
KKR also has Joe Denly and Carlos Brathwaite to call upon if so needed. The bowling lineup for KKR is very good too. They have Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, and Piyush Chawla to choose from in the spin department and Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkot, Anrich Nortje, and Lockie Ferguson vying for the pace bowlers slots.
The core of the KKR side remains strong and most of their international players are in good form. They are going to come at the Sunrisers very hard in the opening match.
Chris Lynn, SP Narine, RV Uthappa, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Lockie Ferguson, Prasidh Krishna.
SRH is going to attract a lot of attention from around the cricketing world in IPL 2019. The chief reason for that is the return of David Warner to top-quality cricket after a year’s ban. Warner has been playing in other leagues around the world but nothing with the visibility of the Indian Premier League. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is also just a few weeks away and David Warner’s performances could have a bearing on him being picked for the Australian squad.
Kane Williamson led the side in the absence of David Warner last year and did the job brilliantly. He scored over 700 runs last season and was by far and away the best batsman of the IPL. Now, the team is going to have to reshuffle a bit with David Warner returning to the fold.
Martin Guptill and Jonny Bairstow are in the squad too but will struggle to find a place in the playing eleven.
Shikhar Dhawan is no longer a part of the SRH franchise as he has been transferred to the Delhi Capitals. SRH got three players in return with Vijay Shankar being the most notable one of those. We expect to see him play a big role in the lower middle order in IPL 2019.
The success of SRH has been built around its brilliant bowling unit. They have Rashid Khan, as the best T20 bowler in the world, to partner with Shakib Al Hasan, Billy Stanlake, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, and a number of other good Indian fast bowlers.
T Natrajan, Basil Thampi, Sandeep Sharma, and Khaleel Ahmed will be fighting for a spot in the playing eleven providing plenty of depth to the side.
We believe that a lot of weaknesses in the SRH camp were covered up by the form of Kane Williamson last season, and that may not be the case again this year. The bowling is still good as ever but the batting is definitely a concern.
David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Shakib Al Hasan, V Shankar, YK Pathan, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, S Sharma, Siddarth Kaul.
The team winning the toss is likely to want to field first

The IPL 2019 match between KKR and SRK is going to be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The weather is expected to be hot with some clouds around but very little threat of rain. The pitch at the Eden Gardens is one of the best in the country. It has bounce, pace, and provides some very exciting cricket.
Matches here tend to be high scoring but the faster bowlers are always in with a chance as well. A score of about 170 should be seen as par.
KKR and SRH are two of the favorites this season to set IPL 2019 on fire. Both of them have made some excellent additions to the squad but we would advise being conservative in the Dream 11 picks for KKR vs SRH IPL 2019 because that's generally what team managements end up doing.
Wicket Keeper: Jonny Bairstow is a very tempting option in the group available, especially 8.5 points but we are just not sure if he is going to play yet. Dinesh Karthik is sure to play and is in decent batting touch even though he is a touch expensive at 9.5 points. Batsmen: We have only picked the four batsmen for this match. Kane Williamson scored over 700 runs in last year's IPL and id definitely going to bat in the top-3 this time around as well. Chris Lynn is an absolute best at smashing sixes and deserves a go even though he has not been in the best form. There are some good options available like Manish Pandey, Nitin Rana, and Martin Guptill available that we have overlooked for this match instead going with Shubman Gill and Robin Uthappa.
Gill was a revelation last year and we expect him to be much better in IPL 2019 while Uthappa has shown remarkable consistency in scoring runs IPL after IPL edition.
All Rounders: Sunil Narine and Andre Russell can legitimately win matches with both bat and ball. They are also IPL legends in their own right. We have also gone with Vijay Shankar because we feel his big-hitting ability and a spot in the middle order could end up serving SRH (and us) quite well!
Bowlers: We have room for three bowlers once again and have gone with Lockie Ferguson, Rashid Khan, and Shahbaz Nadeem. Apart from Rashid, the other two are slight risks because they are not sure to be picked in the playing eleven. Both of them are, however, excellent T20 bowlers.

We are going with the home team in this match. KKR has a strong batting lineup and has made some very good pick in the auction to leave it in a good place. IPL 2019 could be a good one for KKR and we think SRH will find the going tough in this match.
Back the Kolkata Knight Riders to win.
