KN vs WPR Match Prediction - Dec 07, 2022

The Knights will be slight underdogs when they host Western Province in their next CSA Provincial ODI Challenge 2022-23. The Knights lost their opening match to the North West Province while Western Province won its match against the Dolphins.

The odds being offered for both teams are very similar right now and that indicates that the two teams are pretty closely matched.

KN vs WPR Team Previews

Knights

Migael Pretorius bowled very well for the Knights to pick up four wickets in the previous match. He was well-supported by Alfred Mothoa, Patrick Botha, and some tight bowling by Jacques Snyman. More or less the same bowling attack should take the field for this match as well. We don't think the bowling attack is very strong and a lot will depend on Pretorius once more.

Gihahn Cloete, Jacques Snyman, and Raynard van Tonder are the core of the batting lineup for the Knights. These are proven domestic performers with a fair bit of experience. Pite van Biljon, Patrick Botha, and Patrick Kruger are all capable with the bat as well.

The Knights have a decent amount of batting depth and can score big totals.

Knights Playing 11

Aubrey Swanepoel, Garnett Tarr, Nipho Mpungose, Gihahn Cloete, Isaac Dikgale, Jacques Snyman, Mbulelo Budaza, Migael Pretorius, Patrick Botha, Patrick Kruger, Raynard van Tonder.

Western Province

Nandre Burger and Beuran Hendricks started brilliantly against the Dolphins in the previous match reducing them to 6/3 and then 24/4. A fight back by the lower order did allow the Dolphins to reach 226 but the Wester Province batters were up to the task.

Tony de Zorzi, Edward Moore, and Jonathan Bird are the batters to watch out for. De Zorzi has been on the cusp of a South African callup for quite some time now while Morre scored a century in his previous inning. There is not too much depth in this lineup, though, and a few early wickets can put the Western Province in trouble.

George Linde is an experienced spin bowling all-rounder that adds a lot of balance to the team.

Pitch and Conditions

There is some rain predicted on match day and we could have a few delays or even a rained-out match. The pitch promises to be flat and offer a lot of runs but we may not get enough time on the ground to fully appreciate that!

KN vs WPR Betting Tips

We are going to back the Knights in this contest. We don't think they are as bad a team as the odds suggest. They have a better batting lineup and their bowling weaknesses may not be exposed in this contest.

Bet on the Knights to win.
