The Knights have lost the two matches that they have played so far and there is a good chance the Cape Cobras will be in the same boat by the time this match comes around. At the time of this writing, the Cape Cobras have not yet played their second match against the Titans.
The CSA T20 Challenge 2021 (also called the Betway T20 Challenge 2021) is a fast-moving tournament that is benefitting from having all of South Africa’s leading players available. Neither of the two teams competing in this match can afford another defeat otherwise they risk falling too far behind to recover.
Knights vs Cape Cobras CSA T20 Challenge 2021 is going to be played at Kingsmead, Durban on the 22nd of February 2021.
The Knights went down against the Dolphins largely due to a poor batting performance. They lost wickets early and had to rebuild during the time when they should have been going hard at the bowling.
Patrick Kruger, Jacques Snyman, and Andries Gous all fell early. Farhaan Behardien was unable to get into double figures either and the only really meaningful contribution came from the bat of Pite van Biljon.
Biljon remained not out on 72 from just 54 deliveries. He smashed four sixes along the way and looked quite comfortable. It is a shame that he did not get more support in that match. Looking ahead, the Knights will want their top-order to start contributing more meaningfully.
They do have the talent and we don’t think a couple of poor matches make them a bad team.
The bowling performance was much better. Ferisco Adams, Shaun von Berg, and Alfred Mothoa all bowled well. The Knight shave a decent bowling attack and we saw how good it can be. A few more runs on the board and we could have had a completely different outcome of the previous match.
Wandile Makwetu, Farhaan Behardien, PJ van Biljon, Raynard van Tonder, Grant Mokoena, Ferisco Adams, Patrick Kruger, Jacques Snyman, Shaun von Berg, Alfred Mothoa, Migael Pretorius.
On paper, the Cape Cobras have a batting lineup that can match the Knights with ease. Tony de Zorzi, Zubayr Hamza, Kyle Verrayne, George Linde, and Christiaan Jonker form a pretty strong batting lineup.
There is enough talent to go hard at the top and some pretty good domestic experience to call upon as well. The only thing that seems to be lacking is some power in the middle-order to allow for a strong finish.
Just like the Knights, the Cape Cobras are searching for more consistency in their performances as well and will be hoping for their top-order to come out firing.
The bowling attack for the Cape Cobras is a bit on the weaker side. They do not have the depth needed to make things tough for their opponents on a regular basis. George Linde is the leading bowler and Siyabonga Mahima did well in the opening match but this is an area where the Cape Cobras are at a disadvantage against the Knights.
Kyle Verreynne, Tony de Zorzi, Zubayr Hamza, Christiaan Jonker, George Linde, Onke Nyaku, Calvin Savage, Imran Manack, Corbin Bosch, Ziyaad Abrahams, Siyabonga Mahima.
The team that wins the toss may want to bat first. We have seen that the surface does not change much and so getting a good total on the board and then defending it may be the preferred option for both teams.

The conditions in Durban have been pretty good for cricket. The weather is expected to continue to be favorable and we should not have any interruptions. As far as the pitch goes, there is a decent bit of bounce in the surface although the pitch is not as fast as we expected it to be.
That could be because of all the cricket that is being played at the venue. Scores of around 150 have been par and chasing anything more than that has proven to be quite difficult.
The teams are evenly matched in the batting department but the bowling is where the Cape Cobras fall behind. For this reason, we are going to be backing the Knights in this contest.
Bet on the Knights to win.
