The Knights are the only side in the CSA T20 Challenge to not have won a match until now. They are going to be in action again as they take on the Titans in this upcoming match. The Knights have played three matches and lost two with the remaining one being a washout.
The Titans have fared a little better than the Knights but not too much. They have also played three matches and won just one out of them. They have lost one match with the remaining one being a washout.
The weather has played havoc with the tournament and the upcoming forecast for rain around South Africa means that the situation is not going to get too much better either. The Knights will be desperate for a win to try and get their campaign off the ground while the Titans would have penciled this as a match that they expect to win as well.
The Knights lost their previous match against the Lions thanks to an underwhelming bowling performance. It was a match that began promisingly for the Knights. They bowled well and restricted the Lions to a par total but then absolutely collapsed during the batting.
Chasing a total of 151, the Knights ended up losing by 40 runs.
That is a big margin in T20 cricket on any given day and especially when the total being chased was not too big, to begin with.
What would be even more disappointing for the Knights would be the fact that its top-order batsmen got starts and then failed to convert them into anything substantial. Five out of the top-6 batsmen got into double scores but a top-score of 32 meant that the Knights were always trying to rebuild the inning after losing wickets.
The Titans are another strong batting side and so the Knights will have to hope that its batting woes can be sorted out in time. Patrick Kruger, Grant Mokoena, and Petrus van Biljon are the players that we are looking at to do well if the Knights have to hope to win.
These are three talented players that have been around in domestic cricket long enough to know their roles.
The bowling attack led by Ryan McLaren was very disciplined in the previous match. They just need to repeat the same kind of performance and not get too fancy with their plans. Shadley van Schalkwyk, Gerald Coetzee, and Eddie Leie are all good bowlers when they stick to their plans and that is just what they want to do against the Titans as well.

The Titans have a very strong T20 side that is led by its batting unit. Henry Davids, Theunis de Bruyn, Diego Rosier, Farhaan Behardien, and Tony de Zorzi make up the batting order for the Titans. The obvious star of this lineup is Theunis de Bruyn but it would be a mistake for the opposition to just focus on him.
Henry Davids is also a very good T209 player and in good form too. He scored 57 in the Titans last victory and looked to be in sparkling touch. Similarly, Farhaan Behardien may not have had too much to do in the tournament up until now but he is one of the most talented middle-order batsmen going around.
It is actually a shame that pushes himself so far down the order that he does not make an impact in most of the games.
While the Titans are a strong batting side, their bowling is not too bad. It has the rapid Junior Dala and the dependable Shaun von Berg as the two main stalwarts of the bowling attack. Considering the fact that Junior Dala can be very expensive when his radar is not quite right, the risk of the Titans putting in a poor bowling performance is always present.
We think that this is a bowling side that will need some runs from its side in most of the matches to give it the cushion needed.

The side winning the toss is likely to want to bat second. DLS can help the teams batting second and there is some rain predicted for match day.

The CSA T20 Challenge match between the Knights and the Titans is going to be played at the Diamond Oval, Kimberley. The weather forecast for Kimberley is not very encouraging. There are thunderstorms expected intermittently throughout the day and that could make it very difficult for a full match to be played out.
Hopefully, though the weather will remain clear for a result to be achieved even if the match is shortened.
The pitch at Kimberley is good for batting and we should see plenty of runs if the rain does not intervene too much.
The Knights have been woeful this season and are up against one of the highly fancied sides of the tournament. The Titans have an excellent batting side and a bowling unit that has some potential too. We think the Titans should be able to win this match.
Back the Titans to win.
