The Khulna Tigers showed their batting might once again as they posted a total of 182 against the Rangpur Rangers. Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored with 59 and was well supported by Najibullah Zadran who scored 41 from just 26 deliveries as well.
Najmul Hossain Shanto got 30 at the top of the order but the other batsmen did not do much.
We found it impressive that Khulna Tigers were able to get to such a good total even without the help of Rilee Rossow, who is perhaps their best batsman. Rossow was out first ball in the previous match and would be looking to make amends.
Once the Khulna Tigers had a good total on the board, it was always going to be difficult to beat them. The Tigers have a good bowling attack led by Mohammad Amir and Mehidy Hasan. They both bowled well but the pick of the bowlers was Shahidul Islam who picked up four wickets in his four overs.
Robbie Frylinck was very economical in his four overs and Tanvir Islam picked up two wickets as well.
Looking at the form of the Khulna Tigers batting and their bowling strength, the side is going to be very hard to stop.

The only match that Sylhet Thunder has won in this edition of the Bangladesh Premier League came against the Khulna Tigers. It was not a small win either as the eventual margin of 80 runs showed. It would be fair to say that the result of this previous meeting between the two sides was an upset.
No one really expected Sylhet Thunder to win but a fabulous batting performance from Andre Fletcher and Johnson Charles helped their team do the unlikely.
Johnson Charles continued his good form in the next match as well and scored 73 but did not get the same level of support. Now that SHerfane Rutherford has also joined the Sylhet Thunder side, their batting is pretty strong and definitely capable of causing another upset.
Mohammad Mithun and Mossadek Hossain are also among the better national players giving Sylhet Thunder plenty of depth in its batting. The concern is going to be about getting enough consistency in its run-scoring from the aggressive batsmen up the order.
Krishmar Santokie has been brilliant since moving past the controversy at the start of the tournament. He bowled his three overs for just 16 runs and as the most economical bowler for Sylhet Thunder.
The other bowlers had a rough night out and could not defend 174 against Dhaka Platoon.
Sohag Gazi, Ebadat Hossain, Sherfane Rutherford, and Mosaddek Hossain all went for a lot of runs in the previous match. Getting this part of the game together is going to be essential for Sylhet Thunder to be able to compete against a strong Khulna Tigers side.
