Karnataka

Takes with chasing down a par total, Karnataka took the match deep and won with just a few deliveries remaining. They also lost six wickets in the chase and that was not something that they would have been happy about. 

Samarth R, Nikin Jose, Manish Pandey, and Shreyas Gopal all got some runs but only Samarth was able to convert his start into a somewhat substantial score. Mayank Aggarwal was the one big name to miss out and he would certainly want to do better in the semis.

Karnataka’s bowling attack is spin heavy with the likes of K Gowtham and Shreyas Gopal doing the heavy lifting.

The sheer amount of experience in this lineup is hard to match and it helps that the team has been at the sharp end of tournaments regularly in the past few years. 

Saurashtra

Saurashtra defended a par score with an excellent bowling display that saw them win by 44 runs in the end. Harvik Desai continued his solid tournament and runs from Gohil, Vasavada, Vyas, Jani, and Mankad shows that the depth available in the lineup is quite good.

The problem for Saurashtra is that it is very good while chasing par totals but when asked to score at a high run rate, its batsmen seem uncomfortable and make mistakes.

The bowling attack for Saurashtra is excellent. Jaydev Unadkat has been one of the best performers in domestic cricket for a while now and will be helped by some very accurate spinners. Keeping the run rate in check and almost choking the opposition is the game plan that Saurashtra follows instead of being ultra-aggressive and going for runs.
