After a long break, the domestic cricket in South Africa has finally resumed and the fans of domestic cricket couldn't be happier. Even though the tournament is shortened to 15 matches amid the rising Covid cases, the players as well as the fans will be happy that the tournament is going through. Unfortunately, the last three matches were cancelled due to rain and we hope that weather will permit the upcoming match to go through. The match is to be played between the Knights vs the Titans on 16th January 2021 at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.
The Knights have so far been one of the worst performing team of their group and would need to quickly step up their game to have any chance of qualifying to the next round. They have four points to their name with a net run-rate of -1.06 and another loss here could prove to be the final knockout punch given the way the Dolphins have played.
They lost their first match of the tournament, to Dolphins, before their subsequent match was washed out due to rain. The Knights are clearly not at their full-strength and it reflected in their outing against the Dolphins. Chasing a total of 290, their batting looked never looked in control despite majority of their batsmen getting starts. Andries Gous, Pite van Biljon, Farhaan Behardien, and Wandile Makwetu all got starts, but none of them managed to play a match defining innings as the Knights lost the match by 53 runs.
With the ball as well, there wasn't a plan that they stuck to and even if there was, the execution was lacking. Barring Jacques Snyman and Shaun von Berg, none of their bowlers looked effective. All in all, the Knights have a decent team on paper, but the lack of match practice in the recent times was well and truly apparent. They'd need to improve their execution going forward and if they can do that, Knights could be a tough team to deal with.

Just like the Knights, the Titans haven't won any match in the tournament thus far and are above Knights on the points table only because of the extra point that they have with two of their previous matches called off. They do not have too many matches to follow and they wouldn't be aiming for anything less than a win.
In their only concluded match, which was against the Dolphins, they failed to show anything of substance and lost the match by a massive margin of 76 runs. Their bowlers did a good job to keep Dolphins to a manageable score of 272, but batsmen made a mess of the chase, getting completely dismantled for a total of 196.
The Titans do not really have the strength that they had last year as they are missing their players due to various reasons. Barring Theunis de Bruyn, Grant Thomson, Junior Dala, and Kyle Abbott, they lack the experience. It was evident in the first match as well. They are a bowling heavy side and would need a special effort from their bowlers to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
Playing 11 not yet available.
We have already seen the last three matches being washed out due to rain and it could very well be the case again. Both sides are coming off losses in their respective encounter and will be itching for a win. Comparing the two teams on paper, we expect Knight to emerge on top in this match.
