It’s a bottom of the table clash in the Bangladesh Premier League as the Khulna Titans take on the Sylhet Sixers. The situation for both the teams in the BPL is pretty dire. The Khulna Titans are dead last on the BPL League table with just one win from their eight matches so far.
The Sylhet Sixers are not doing too much better with only two wins from their seven matches. They are second from last on the BPL League table. With only a handful of matches to go for each team, it is highly unlikely that either of these two teams is going to be a part of the playoffs.
Still, if they are to have any hope then they must get on a winning streak right now.
The Khulna Titans put up an encouraging display of batting for the second match running but failed to end up on the winning side on either occasion. The Khulna Titans played their previous match against the Rangpur Riders and set them a pretty daunting total of 182.
The runs were put on the board thanks to small contributions across the order. Brendan Taylor made an aggressive 32, Nazmul Hossain Shanto top-scored with 48 while David Wiese scored an unbeaten 35 off just 15 deliveries.
It was a very good display of batting that should have put the pressure on the opposition.
The Khulna Titans were unable to follow up a good batting display with some disciplined bowling.
Yasir Shah went for 47 in just 3.3 overs and all the other bowlers were pretty expensive as well. The Rangpur Riders managed to hit 13 sixes in their inning to basically put the chase in the bag.
The Khulna Titans would be disappointed by their results in the last couple of matches because they have played some good cricket. It would be fair to say that they have been beaten by teams better than them on both occasions.
In this match against the Sylhet Sixers, the Khulna Titans are up against a struggling side that has lost the services of David Warner. This would be one match that the Titans must think they can win and hopefully move up from the bottom of the standings.

The Sylhet Sixers have been forced to make a few changes since the time that David Warner left the Bangladesh Premier League. They have promoted Sabbir Rahman to open the inning and he has responded with an excellent 85 off just 51 deliveries.
Sabbir Rahman is one of those vexing Bangladeshi cricketers that makes you want to tear your hair out. He is supremely talented but seems to throw away his wicket on a lot of occasions. He is back to playing at the position that he covets and maybe that will give him the motivation needed to be more consistent.
Sabbir Rahman is partnering Liton Das, another player that is very similar to what Sabbir Rahman is. Das has been a part of the national squad for quite some time now and should be performing better than he is.
Hopefully, the Sylhet Sixers will take this opportunity to give Nicholas Pooran a bigger role in the batting order. He is the highest scorer for the Sylhet Sixers this season and has been striking the ball extremely cleanly.
If there is one man that can win the match with the bat for the Sylhet Sixers then it's Nicholas Pooran.
We actually think that the bowling attack of the Sylhet Sixers is better than the Khulna Titans. Sandeep Lamichhane, Taskin Ahmed, and Mohammad Irfan are all excellent bowlers.
Perhaps they have not been as consistent as they would like but they definitely have the talent and experience to run through the Khulna Titans side.
One of the biggest battles for the Sylhet Sixers is going to be getting runs from the top-order. If Sabbir Rahman and Liton Das can give their side a good start then we think the Sylhet Sixers can capitalize with Pooran down the order. If Pooran is left to do everything on his own like so often in the BPL already, then the Sylhet Sixers are going to be in a lot of trouble.

This Bangladesh Premier League T20 match between the Khulna Titans and the Sylhet Sixers is going to be played at the Shere Bangla Stadium, Dhaka. The pitch at the Shere Bangla Stadium has come in for a lot of criticism for its slow nature. Runs have been very difficult to come by and making the most of the new ball is going to be very important.
A score of around 140 should be considered par.
Both the teams taking on each other are pretty flawed. Both teams have a misfiring batting lineup and a bowling attack that has struggled. The Khulna Titans, though, seem to have been playing a better brand of cricket in the last couple of matches. They could find themselves in the winner's circle in this match.
Back the Khulna Titans to win.
