The previous completed match for both Lancashire and Derbyshire was against each other. Their next match was rained-out and now they are going to be facing up to each other again. Lancashire does not have access to its home ground till the end of the September and so this match is going to be played in Liverpool.
There is a bit of rain forecast for match day but hopefully we should get to see another close contest between these two teams. As things stand right now, Lancashire is unbeaten in the T20 Blast while Derbyshire is still looking for its first win.
Lancashire vs Derbyshire T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at Aigburth, Liverpool on the 4th of September 2020.
Lancashire has been winning so far on the strength of its batting. Keaton Jennings is one of the best batsmen in this format and could be pushing for a place in the English setup soon. He already has one century to his name and could easily have a couple of more big scores before the end of the group stage.
He is partnered with Alex Davies at the top of the order. He scored 82 in the previous match against Derbyshire and is going to be pretty confident going up against them once more. With Steven Croft, Dane Vilas, and Josh Bohannon in the team, Lancashire has a strong batting lineup.
They could be tested if they lose Jennings and Davies early, though.
Matthew Parkinson came in for a lot of punishment in the previous match against Derbyshire. He is one of the leaders of the Lancashire bowling attack which has some clear weaknesses. They may have Saqib Mahmood available to them for this matchmaking things better but we will have to wait and see if he actually players.
Lancashire’s bowling lineup is a bit stretched at the moment. Steven Croft, Tom Bailey, Liam Hurt, and Danny Lamb all played an important for the bowling attack in the previous match but that could easily change.
KK Jennings, Alex Davies, DJ Vilas, Josh Bohannon, Rob Jones, Danny Lamb, Tom Bailey, Tom Hartley, Luke Wood, Stephen Parry, Matt Parkinson.
A strong batting lineup like Derbyshire has not been able to get the best out of its players so far. Billy Godleman is not scoring runs as frequently as he should while Luis Reece, Wayne Madsen, and Leus De Plooy have all got starts without converting them into something more substantial.
On paper, Derbyshire has enough and more in its ranks to be able to match the Lancashire batting lineup.
One of the senior players will have to take the responsibility on their shoulders, though, otherwise, things are going to be difficult.
Will Madsen, Ed Barnes, and Matthew Critchley are the bowlers that have to lead the attack against Lancashire. Derbyshire will know that a couple of early wickets could put a lot of pressure on Lancashire and that is exactly what they must do.
We think Derbyshire might be better prepared for this return contest against Lancashire.
Billy Godleman, Luis Reece, Wayne Madsen, Leus du Plooy, Matt Critchley, AL Hughes, Anuj Dal, HR Hosein, Matt McKiernan, Edward Barnes, Sam Conners.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. That has been the norm this season although we don't think winning has had too much to do with the result of the matches so far.

There is a bit of rain forecast for match day but nothing serious. It looks like we will be able to get a full match to enjoy. The conditions are expected to favor the batsmen but the surface may not be as flat as in other parts of the country. The pitch may be on the slower side and give the bowlers a fighting chance.
We are going for the underdog in this match. Lancashire has been excellent so far but it has weaknesses that Derbyshire can exploit. The dependence on Jennings and Davies is something that bothers us as well.
Derbyshire may have got off to a poor start but it has the batting strength needed to win this match and its bowling attack is just as good as Lancashire, if not better.
Bet on Derbyshire to win.
