Lancashire won its match against Yorkshire just a few hours ago and will be heading straight back to Old Trafford for its match against Worcestershire. Playing against the defending champions of T20 Blast is never going to be easy but two matches in 24 hours are not ideal.
Worcestershire has won the only match it got to play so far as the other ended up being a washout. Lancashire is also currently undefeated in the T20 Blast 2019 after having won two out of its three matches. The third match was a rained out fixture.
This promises to be a good match between two teams currently in good form.
Lancashire vs Worcestershire T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at Emirates, Old Trafford, on the 26th of July 2019.
The return of Liam Livingstone to the Lancashire side was a huge boost in the last match and it strengthens an already strong batting side. Alex Davies and Liam Livingstone were able to get their side off to a good start after which Glenn Maxwell and Dane Vilas provided the acceleration to help Lancashire end with a very good total.
170 at Headingly may not be a huge total, but it was definitely par for the surface.
Saqib Mahmood was the star of the bowling attack as he picked up three crucial wickets and kept breaking the momentum of the Yorkshire chase. He has also been out injured for the first couple of matches and Lancashire would have been thrilled to see him return to top form.
Steven Croft bowled the opening over, his only one of the match, while James Faulkner, Glenn Maxwell, and Matthew Parkinson were all economical towards the end of the inning.
The return of some of Lancashire’s best players from injuries bodes very well for its immediate future. It has won two out of its three matches and has the winning momentum on its side.
Alex Davies, Liam Livingstone, Steven Croft, Glenn Maxwell, KK Jennings, DJ Vilas, James Faulkner, Josh Bohannon, Saqib Mahmood, Matt Parkinson, Richard Gleeson.
The defending champions have a tough task on their hands against an in-form Lancashire team. Their opening match seemed to be slipping away from them before a fantastic inning from Ed Barnard coming in at number 8 changed the entire scenario.
Worcestershire has a very strong batting lineup. Rikki Wessels, Martin Guptill, Callum Ferguson, and Moeen Ali are a superb lineup that has power, international experience, and plenty of T20 skill to call upon.
With Brett D’Oliveira, Ben Coz, Ross Whiteley, and Ed Barnard to follow, there is plenty of depth in the side to allow them freedom during batting.
In fact, Wayne Parnell slots in at number 9 in this time and he was opening for franchise T20 teams around the world not too long ago.
We don’t think Worcestershire is going to be out-batted in this match. If anything, they must focus on their bowling to ensure that one of Lancashire’s batsmen does not play a brilliant inning that takes the game away from them completely.
Wayne Parnell, Patrick Brown, Moeen Ali, and Dillon Pennington make a very strong bowling attack. Moeen Ali took four wickets in the previous match, Patrick Brown remained as hard to hit as ever, and Wayne Parnell can bowl at any time of the inning without any trouble whatsoever.
Worcestershire is the defending champion and also one of the strongest teams this season. They are going to be able to challenge Lancashire and can think of handing them their first defeat of the season.
Martin Guptill, Riki Wessels, Callum Ferguson, Daryl Mitchell, Brett D Oliveira, Ben Cox, Ross Whiteley, Ed Barnard, WD Parnell, Dillon Pennington, Patrick Brown.
The team that wins the toss may want to field first with the threat of rain around.

Lancashire vs Worcestershire Vitality T20 Blast match is going to be played at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. The weather is expected to be a bit cloudy during the start of the match and we may get some rain later.
The pitch at Old Trafford is excellent for batting. The long boundaries also allow the spinners to bowl freely and so we usually get a fairly balanced match. We think a score of around 170 should be considered par at the surface.
These are two very strong teams going at each other. Lancashire is in excellent form and is almost back to full strength with the return of Liam Livingstone and Saqib Mahmood. Worcestershire is a settled and strong side with nearly all the bases covered. We think hedging your bets in-play might be the right option but before the match, we have to stick with Worcestershire.
Bet on Worcestershire to win.
