Leicestershire has yet to participate in a completed T20 Blast game as both of its opening matches have had to be abandoned. The second match at least saw Leicestershire get a decent bat and give us an idea of what their batting order is going to look like. Their next match is going to be against Durham, a side that started out with a loss to Nottinghamshire.
Durham also batted pretty decently in the previous match but then could not defend it. Which side will be able to come out victorious in this contest?
Leicestershire vs Durham T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at Headingley, Leeds on the 31st of August 2020.
The Foxes would be hoping for a lot of runs from its senior T20 players, namely Colin Ackerman and Arron Lilley. Their entire 20 overs were played out against Lancashire and we saw Harry Dearden hit some form as well.
The choice to open with Gareth Delany was an interesting one. He is not the hardest-hitter of the ball and we don't think he is going to go past 25-30 too often.
Overall, the Leicestershire Foxes seemed to be short of the kind of batting power we have seen in the tournament already.
The power and runs have to come from Lilley and Ackerman otherwise Leicestershire is going to struggle in this edition of the Blast.
We did not get a chance to see the bowling but we did see the players the Foxes had picked. Callum Parkinson, Ben Mike, Will Davis, and Gavin Griffiths formed the bowling attack. Apart from Parkinson who has been getting some positive feedback in recent weeks.
It could be a big task for this lineup to stop the Durham batting.
Colin Ackermann, William Davis, Harry Dearden, Gareth Delany, Gavin Griffiths, Lewis Hill, Arron Lilley, Ben Mike, Callum Parkinson, George Rhodes, Tom Taylor.
Durham may have lost the previous match but it did not do too badly overall. It managed to score 181 for the loss of three wickets thanks to a spectacular 60 not out from Graham Clark. Alex Lees also got a fifty and Brydon Carse scored some quick runs too.
Paul Coughlin was pretty effective with the bat and made the most of his promotion.
There was nothing too much wrong about the batting and Durham will not be overly worried about the loss. They came up against a better batting side and there is not too much that you can do about that.
David Bedingham and Stuart poynter are also in the lineup showing a very decent amount of depth.
The bowling was very disappointing and will need to improve. Joe Clarke played a great inning but the bowlers would have liked to have asked some tougher questions. They missed their lines too often and there were just too many freebies on offer.
Liam Traveskis, Matt Potts, Paul Coughlin, and Nathan Rimmington are expected to be better in this match. Scott Steel had a poor match but he opened the batting and bowled two useful overs. He is a player to keep an eye for in the upcoming matches.
Alex Lees, Scott Steel, Graham Clark, David Bedingham, Sean Dickson, Stuart Poynter, Brydon Carse, Paul Coughlin, Liam Trevaskis, Matthew Potts, Nathan Rimmington.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first.

Next to no chance of rain has been forecast in Leeds for match day and that is very good news. This means we should be able to enjoy a full match without any interruptions. The pitch at Headingley is going to be good for batting and should allow for a high-scoring match.
The bowlers are going to get very little assistance from the surface.
A score of around 170-180 may be par on the surface.
We think Durham has a very good chance of winning this match. Leicestershire did not appear to be a very impressive T20 team. We think Durham has a better batting lineup, although not by much, and a much better bowling attack than Leicestershire.
Bet on Durham to win.
