A packed opening weekend for the Vitality T20 Blast 2019 sees many interesting contests being played out. This match in the North group is going to feature Leicestershire take on Lancashire at Grace Road.
We think Leicestershire and Lancashire are two teams that are heading in different directions but several injuries to the first choice lineup of Lancashire may have made the contest a lot closer than anyone expected.
Leicestershire finished 8th in the North Group in 2018 but it was on two wins short of the teams that finished in the top-4. It is going to be playing in home conditions and will know that this is the best time to face Lancashire.
Can Lancashire find enough depth in its squad to overcome some serious losses?
Leicestershire vs Lancashire Vitality T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at Grace Road, Leicester on the 19th of July 2018.
The Leicestershire Foxes are in for a rough ride in the T20 blast 2019. We are not convinced about the strength of their squad and some of their choices for overseas players are baffling.
Three of their best T20 players are no longer at the club and that is a huge loss for any side to overcome. Be Raine, Cameron Delport, and Mohammad Nabi are all going to be playing for other counties in the T20 Blast 2019.
This means that the batting is severely compromised while the loss of Ben Raine also puts a big hole in its bowling attack. Can Colin Ackerman and Mark Cosgrove find the runs to be able to keep Leicestershire competitive?
We doubt it. Colin Ackerman is approaching the end of his career and his powers are waning. Both Colin Ackerman and Mark Cosgrove were never very consistent players at the best of their abilities either.
Leicestershire has also opted to include Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Abbas into its side. Abbas is a wonderful red ball bowler who concentrates on line and length to draw out mistakes from the batsmen.
His white-ball record is actually quite poor and we think he is going to find life hard in the T20 Blast 2019. Up against a weakened Lancashire side missing some of its key players may be the only straw for Leicestershire to clutch at.
Harry Dearden, Neil Dexter, Arron Lilley, Colin Ackermann, Lewis Hill, Aadil Ali, Ben Mike, Dieter Klein, Callum Parkinson, Gavin Griffiths, Chris Wright.
Lancashire managed to recruit Glenn Maxwell in its side for the T20 Blast 2019. He is going to be joined by fellow Aussie, James Faulkner at the club and those are two of the highest-rated T20 players in the world right there.
Glenn Maxwell may not have had a great World Cup but he showed enough glimpses to prove he is not in bad form. Put him up against some of the poor county attacks and we have no doubts that he is going to absolutely wreck them.
The Lancashire batting lineup is very strong even though it is going to be without Liam Livingstone and Tom Bailey. Saqib Mahmood is also going to be a big loss for the bowling department.
Still, the presence of Keaton Jennings, Dane Vilas, Alex Davies and a couple of good all-rounders in the middle is enough to provide the runs Lancashire needs.
Lancashire is going to go to Grace Road with nothing less than a victory as the minimum expectation.
Their bowling attack is pretty T20 savvy with Matt Parkinson, Richard Gleeson, and Toby Lester a part of it. Lancashire missed out on a possible T20 title in 2018 and we think they have the team to be able to challenge this time again particularly if it can get off to a good start in the campaign.
Steven Croft, Alex Davies, Glenn Maxwell, KK Jennings, DJ Vilas, Josh Bohannon, James Faulkner, Danny Lamb, Matt Parkinson, Richard Gleeson, Toby Lester.
The team winning the toss is likely to want to bowl first. There is a lot of rain around and we are likely to have a DLS adjusted match if we get some cricket at all. This favors the team batting second.

Leicestershire vs Lancashire Vitality T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at Grace Road, Leicester. Quite a lot of rain is forecast on match day and we could have rained out fixture. That is going to be hugely disappointing for both teams.
Lancashire would think of a win being snatched away while Leicestershire would know that a weakened Lancashire side was its best chance of getting an upset.
The pitch at Grace Road is always good for T20 cricket even though it has slowed up a bit in recent times. Hopefully, we get to watch some cricket on it.
Dream11 prediction for Leicestershire vs Lancashire is going to be centered around the belief that flat batting wickets are going to be prepared for the Vitality T20 Blast 2019. We have tried to pick all the known performers and mix in some lesser-known names to help distinguish our Dream11 team for Leicestershire vs Lancashire.
Wicketkeeper: We don't think Jos Buttler is going to be playing this match but he should be picked in the side if he is available. Dane Vilas has international pedigree, is a very good batsman, and that is he makes it as our wicketkeeper.
Batsmen: Alex Davies, Joe Burns, Keaton Jennings, and Mark Cosgrive are the four batsmen we like for this match. Keaton Jennings is a very underrated T20 batsman and has shown a remarkable ability to strike the ball cleanly in the past. Joe Burns is also a former international player of repute and still plays in the Big bash League. mark Cosgrove holds the fate of the Leicestershire team and is likely to score runs as well.
All-rounders: Glenn maxwell, Colin Ackerman, and James Faulkner are our three picks from this category. Maxwell is one of the most dangerous batter sin this format while Faulkner is a brilliant death bowler. Colin Ackerman may be getting on but he is still one of the best batsmen in his side and more than a useful bowler.
Bowlers: Graham Onions, Deiter Klein, and Arron Lilley are the three bowlers we have chosen for this match.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have picked Keaton Jennings as captain and Mark Cosgrove as vice-captain as our Dream11 picks for Leicestershire vs Lancashire Vitality T20 Blast 2019.
Leicestershire may be playing at home but Lancashire has all the advantages. It has the batting to be able to clear the boundaries consistently and the bowling to take advantage of any conditions. On a head to head basis, Lancashire is far ahead of Leicestershire.
Bet on Lancashire to win.
