The T20 Blast 2020 got off to a bit of wet start as rain played spoil-sport in a number of the matches. Leicestershire was one of those teams whose match was washed out without a ball being bowled. Lancashire, on the other hand, did manage to get on the park and showed us just why they are so dangerous in this competition.
Thankfully, the weather forecast for this match is much better and we should finally be able to see Leicestershire on the ground as well.
Leicestershire finished 9th in the previous season of the T20 Blast and will need to start well to turn things around this time.
Leicestershire vs Lancashire T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at Grace Road, Leicester on the 29th of August 2020.
We know nothing more about Leicestershire after their opening match than we did before the season started. That is because the match was washed out without a ball being bowled and so the teams were also not announced.
This is the second home scheduled for the Foxes and it remains to be seen whether they can take advantage of it. Leicestershire will have seen the kind of batting power that Lancashire is bringing and will need to match it in that area.
Colin Ackerman and Aaron Lilley are the two players that we are looking at to lead the fight. Both the players are seasoned T20 professionals and strike the ball a long way.
The rest of the batting is a bit weak and the Foxes may find it difficult to recover if they lose early wickets.
Callum Parkinson and Chris Wright are expected to lead the bowling attack with support from the all-rounders. Both Ackerman and Lilley are expected to contribute to the bowling in a significant manner as well.
Colin Ackermann, Arron Lilley, Harry Dearden, Gareth Delany, Lewis Hill, Tom Taylor, George Rhodes, Ben Mike, Callum Parkinson, Gavin Griffiths, William Davis.
Alex Davies and Keaton Jennings put on 170 before they were separated and pretty much batted Durham out of the contest. It was an exhibition in T20 batting where both the batsmen scored quickly without taking unnecessary risks.
Alex Davies finished with 60 from 50 deliveries, slow by T20 standards, while Jennings finished with 108 from 63 deliveries.
A couple of very strong batsmen like Liam Livingstone and Glenn Maxwell are missing from the lineup for Lancashire at the moment but they still seem to have some decent depth. Dane Vilas has been a very important performer for Lancashire Lightning in the past few seasons and will play a big role in this year’s T20 Blast as well.
Steven Croft, Tom Bailey, and Matthew Parkinson bowled very well for Lancashire in their opening match. With Richard Gleeson out with injury and Saqib Mahmood on England duty, the bowling is also a bit thinner than usual but that is something Lancashire cannot do anything about.
They will have to hope that the batting continues to fire and provide a cushion for their bowlers.
KK Jennings, Alex Davies, Steven Croft, DJ Vilas, Josh Bohannon, Rob Jones, Danny Lamb, Tom Hartley, Tom Bailey, Liam Hurt, Matt Parkinson.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. There is no rain around but defending a score is pretty difficult at Grace Road. The team that bats second has a decent advantage.

The weather forecast for this match is much better than what we saw on the opening day. In fact, we could have a full, uninterrupted match being played if a little luck goes our way. The pitch at Grace Road is very good for batting and that should make for another high-scoring encounter between both the teams.
The new ball bowlers will be able to get a bit of help for the first few overs but it is all in favor of the batsmen after that.
A score of around 180 is going to be the minimum that teams batting first aim for.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 team for Leicestershire vs Lancashire
The Leicestershire Foxes have a very experienced and respected Paul Nixon coaching them but he can only work with the players that are available. As things stand now, we don’t think the Foxes have what it takes to be able to win consistently. Lancashire is a stronger batting side and already has a win under its belt.
It should be able to get two in a row to its name.
Bet on Lancashire to win.
