Once at the bottom of the North's Group points table, Leicestershire Foxes have now won two matches in a row to find themselves amongst the top four teams in the points table. They'll be looking to build on to their resurgence as they take on Northamptonshire Steelbacks in their next encounter, which is to be played on Friday, 9th August at Grace Road, Leicester. While Northamptonshire Steelbacks are left a little too behind as far as progressing to the next round is concerned, Leicestershire Foxes are suddenly in with a realistic chance. They'll be looking to continue to build on their superb mini-run in the tournament, and we expect a scintillating contest between the two sides.
With three wins from their last four matches, Leicestershire Foxes have surprised one and all, especially after the kind of start they had to the tournament. They looked listless in their first four matches, but wins over Birmingham Bears, Worcestershire Rapids, and Nottinghamshire Outlaws has brought them back into the contention for the playoffs.
In three of their last four matches, their bowling has done a fantastic job. Defending a total of 189 against Bears, their bowlers were brilliant right from the word go as they dismantled the Bears entirely for a total score of just 134. Against Worcestershire and Nottinghamshire, their bowlers bowled in the right channels as they restricted the two sides to 119 and 104 respectively.
Colin Ackermann, their skipper, did an exceedingly good job with the ball against Birmingham Bears as he picked up 7 for 18, a record in T20s, in his four overs. With Leicestershire Foxes looking to build on their good form, the form and Colin Ackermann with both bat and ball and the varieties in their bowling attack could come in pretty handy. In the earlier matches, it was their batting which looked a little out of sorts, but it certainly has changed a lot in their last four matches. If their batting can continue to do as its been doing in the last few matches, things could get even brighter for the Foxes in their upcoming fixtures.

Thanks to their superb win over Durham Jets, Northamptonshire Steelbacks still stand a chance to qualify for the quarter-finals, but they'd have to do really well hereon. After having a dismal tour until their last match, they thumped Durham by a good margin of 21-runs and will be looking to carry on with their form.
Batting first on a seemingly good wicket and a ground with smallish boundaries, Northamptonshire struggled to get going yet again and ended up with just 145 runs on the board in their allotted 20 overs. While a couple of their batsmen looked good, no one was able to take them through to a tall total, which they'd have wanted so desperately before the match started.
Their bowling, however, did splendidly in defense of such a low total with Joshua Cobb, their skipper, playing a big role. He bowled a miserly spell, conceding just 12 runs off his four overs. Their bowlers have been doing pretty well in the tournament so far which extended in their last match as well. Should they continue the way they've been doing and their batting steps up its game, things can get better for the Steelbacks.

Leicestershire Foxes seems to be peaking just at the right moment and will need to continue to build on it if they have to qualify for the playoffs. Fortunately, with Northamptonshire Steelbacks not looking in good form, the Foxes have a relatively more comfortable match. Leicestershire Foxes have done well in both the departments of the game in their recent matches and are, therefore, firm favorites to emerge on top in their upcoming game.
