LEI vs NOT Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Aug 20, 2022

We are into the back-end of the league stage of the Royal London One Day Cup 2022 and things are already looking pretty settled with respect to the qualification scenarios. All sides have at most a couple of matches to go and they would want to be at their very best in those.

Leicestershire are one of the favorites to get to the next round but would still need to win at least one of their remaining two matches for confirmation. Up next in the tournament, they are set to meet Nottinghamshire in a match important from the qualification standpoint for both these sides. The match between the two sides is to be played on 20th August 2022 at the Old Road, Leicester.

LEI vs NOT Team Previews

Leicestershire

Leicestershire have been on a growth trajectory in recent times and that is apparent by the way they have performed in the tournament so far. They are well ahead in the race to the playoffs and one win from their remaining two matches should be enough to take them through. A loss here in this match, though, will make things interesting for them.

As it currently stands on the points table, Leicestershire are placed at the third spot on the points table, having a total of 10 points from six matches. Another win here will ensure their top-four finish, regardless of how their net run-rate shapes up. A couple of losses in their remaining two matches might well take things to net run-rate, which anyway is pretty good at 0.341.

Leicestershire Playing 11

Arron Lilley, Louis Kimber, MIchael Finan, Nick Welch, Rishi Patel, Chris Wright, Edward Barnes, Harry Swindells, Lewis Hill, Wiaan Mulder, William Davis.

Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire got off to a terrific start in the competition and were one of the prime candidates to finish among the top-four but with a poor run in the second half, they seem to be losing the plot. Even two wins in their remaining two matches will not be enough to push them through as their fate will then rest in the hands of other sides.

Currently on the points table, they are placed at the sixth spot with six points to their name. Even though they can get to a total of 10 points at most, the good thing is that they have a decent net run-rate, which can come in handy if it gets to that. They have a decent enough side on paper and will be desperate to stay in the hunt. If they manage to play to their potential here, Leicestershire will have their work cut out.

Nottinghamshire Playing 11

Brett Hutton, BT Slater, Dane Schadendorf, Fateh Singh, Lyndon James, Matthew Montgomery, Toby Pettman, Dane Paterson, Haseeb Hameed, Liam Patterson-White, S Budinger.

LEI vs NOT Betting Tips

We are already into the business end of the tournament and one match could prove to be the difference between a playoff spot and missing out on it. Both sides would be desperate for a win here and a cracker of a contest is certainly on the cards. While the two sides are pretty much matched on paper, Leicestershire have done better in recent times. Also, the fact that they are playing at their home turf should work to their advantage. Keeping that into consideration and the other factors stated above, a bet on Leicestershire win should be the way to go.
