The wait is over and we finally have our top four in the Abu Dhabi T10 League and the first qualifier is set to be played on 23rd November at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium between Maratha Arabians and Qalandars. The Qalandars rised to the second-spot at the ladder with a superb win over Delhi Bulls and will be confident of repeating the feat against the Arabians as well. The Arabians, on the other hand, have been the team to beat in the super-league stage of the tournament and getting past them will not be easy. Considering that both the sides are peaking at almost the right moment, a mouth-watering contest in certainly on cards.
It's been incredible how the Arabians have turned the tables upside down in the competition. After the first match in the competitions, wherein the Arabians were smashed left, right, and center by the Warriors, Maratha Arabians have smashed all other teams. They topped the league stage with four wins in six matches and had a unparallaled net run-rate of 1.721.
The Maratha Arabians have been riding on their stupendous top-order, which has produced runs like a machine. In last four matches, they have scored runs at an averag of over 13.57 runs an over and no team has scored even remotely close to that.
The format of the tournament is such that teams have sometimes struggled to scored hundred runs in aggregate. That, however, has not been the case for the Arabians. Chris Lynn himself has narrowly missed out on a hundred, not once, but twice.
In their most recent encounter, which was against the Tigers, Maratha Arabians chased down the total of 106 with significant ease. The Arabians will be delighted to see that they chased down the total with contributions coming from Najibullah Zadran and Yuvraj Singh, who both have been relatively quiet in the tournament so far.
In addition to their superb batting, they have a pretty good bowling unit as well. The likes of Dasun Shanka, Dwayne Bravo, and Lasith Malinga have expectedly done well for them. The cherry on top for them has been the performance of Shiraz Ahmed, who did pretty well in the last match as well.

Unlike the Warriors, Qalandars got off to a pretty good start to the tournament as they won their first match and tied the second. They, however, lost the plot in the mid stage of the tournament before finally finishing off the league stage with a terrific flourish.
The Qalandars finally finished at the second spot on the ladder with seven points to their name in six matches. They also have a pretty good net run-rate of 0.578, but it not even remotely close to that of Maratha Arabians.
In the recent matches, the Qalandars have been fantastic, winning two of their last three. Their most recent win came against Delhi Bulls, the team that ended one spot above the bottom on the points table. Bowling first, the Qalandars restricted the Bulls to a manageable total of 98 runs, which they somehow chased down with one ball to spare.
All in all, the Qalandars have not been clinical in their campaign in the tournament, but have done enough to earn a qualifier spot. The certainly have the team to go all the way and if they manage to play to their potential tomorrow, the Arabians would have their work cut out.

Needless to say that it is an important game for both sides. The winner will move ahead to play the grand finale whereas the loser will go down to play the winner of the eliminator. Both the sides have done pretty well leading up to this knock-out fixture and there's little to separate the two. Given the way the two teams have performed in their last few respective matches and their balances, we think that the Maratha Arabians will win the upcoming match and cruise to the final of third edition of Abu Dhabi T10 League.
