MI vs DC Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Mar 24, 2019
Mumbai Indians had a very poor IPL 2018 and are going to be keen to set the record straight in IPL 2019. As one of the most successful teams of the IPL, everyone expects the Mumbai Indians to be in the running for the title. We have seen in the past that the Mumbai Indians can be very good or very bad. They finished 6th in 2018 and were at the receiving end of some thrilling last-ball finishes. As traditional slow starters, the Mumbai Indians will be aware of the increased competition in the Indian Premier League and will want to start things with a win.
They are up against the Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils). As the only franchise in IPL to have never won a knockout game, the Delhi Capitals have been changed their entire squad for a few seasons now but nothing seems to have worked. Maybe changing their name will bring them the luck they need to succeed.
MI vs DC Team Previews
Mumbai Indians
The Mumbai Indians may have had an IPL 2018 to forget but they did not end up changing their team too much. The few names that they have added are pretty decent buys. The biggest addition to the Mumbai Indians squad is Quinton de Kock. The South African opening batsman has been in excellent form and has been smashing centuries with ease. He should love batting at the Wankhede and is one of our early picks to be the highest scorer of IPL 2019.
Watching Quinton de Kock open the batting with someone like Evin Lewis (provided he is fit) is going to be one of the highlights of the tournament.
Rohit Sharma has grown as a batsman in international cricket over the last one year. He has also always been brilliant in the IPL. Rohit Sharma’s form dictates to a large extent how the Mumbai Indians go. He had a poor IPL 2018 and his side was unable to compete effectively.
We are also very keen to see if the Mumbai Indians take a cue from T20 cricket around the world and send Kieron Pollard up the order. Pollard was very good in the Caribbean Premier League and is smashing runs in the PSL as well. Pollard, though, has not been very well utilized by Mumbai Indians in the past and played much too low down the order.
The addition of Yuvraj Singh and Lasith Malinga to the squad is a bit strange. Both those players are well past their prime but maybe Mumbai Indians think they can get a little something more out of this duo just yet.
The real strength of the Mumbai Indians comes from its strong core of Indian players. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Krunal Pandya are all current Indian international players that excel at T20 cricket. Mumbai Indians still have a few holes in their lineup and should be wary of a Delhi Capitals side that has some very dangerous players in its midst.
Mumbai Indians Playing 11
Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, SA Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Y Singh, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Ben Cutting, MJ Mcclenaghan, Rasikh Dar, JJ Bumrah.
Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals always seem to be making a lot of moves in the IPL auction but then end up falling short of expectation. This has made us a bit wary of placing too much faith in the side. A look at their squad, though, screams quality.
Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Colin Munro, Colin Ingram, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishab Pant should all find a place in the starting eleven for the side. Dhawan just scored a fantastic century against Australia, Prithvi Shaw is the brightest batting talent that India has seen in a long time, Shreyas Iyer has been smashing centuries in domestic cricket, while Munro, Ingram, and Pant are all very aggressive batsmen.
The Delhi Capitals would not mind taking on Mumbai in the opening match at all. It allows their batting lineup to start at the best batting wicket in the country before the Mumbai Indians have found their groove.
The bowling lineup has options such as Chris Morris, Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada, Sandeep Lamichhane, Amit Mishra, Axar Patel, Nathu Singh, and Ishant Sharma to choose from. Any of these options should end up making a formidable side that is very competitive.
The captain for the Delhi Capitals is Shreyas Iyer and that is perhaps one thing that the franchise needs to worry about. Iyer is a bit inexperienced and has not shown any outstanding leadership trait to be considered over far more experienced cricketers.
Having Ricky Ponting as the coach is a big plus. He is one of the sharpest T20 minds around the world and should help the Delhi Capitals navigate selection decisions with confidence.
Delhi Capitals Playing 11
Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, RR Pant, Colin Ingram, Keemo Paul, Axar Patel, R Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, TA Boult, I Sharma.

Pitch and Conditions
The IPL 2019 match between the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals is going to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The weather forecast for Mumbai excellent on match day. We should have a sunny day and a cooler night with relatively low humidity.
The batting surface at the Wankhede is reliably excellent for batting. It is the surface where the highest average scores are made every IPL edition, the most sixes are hit, and some excellent chases are always seen.
We hope to see a very high scoring match between two very strong batting sides. A score of around 180-190 can be considered par for the course.
MI vs DC Dream11 Prediction
The Dream 11 Predictions for MI vs Dc IPL 2019 are quite challenging because of the sheer number of talented players to choose from. We think it is helpful to pick the players according to the conditions and then go for the best combination. Mumbai is likely to be an excellent batting venue so we are going with a batting heavy Deam 11 side for MI vs DC.
Wicket-Keeper: Quinton de Kock comes in with a massive reputation and some excellent form behind him. He could form a deadly opening combination with Rohit Sharma in IPL 2019.
Batsmen: Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are easy picks. They bat at the top of the order and love scoring big runs in T20 cricket. We have added three more batsmen to the side for this contest. Prithvi Shaw, Kieron Pollard, and Colin Ingram.
Shaw is returning from injury, Ingram may or may not play, while Kieron Pollard could be shunted down the order. All three of these players are however terrific T20 batsmen that have been in good form recently. We are banking on the team management making good use of them.
All Rounder: Splurging on top-quality batsmen has left room for just one all-rounder. We have picked Krunal Pandya to hopefully contribute with wickets in the middle and some big hits when he gets the chance to bat.
Bowlers: A few value picks are available in the bowling. Trent Boult, Mitchell McClenagahan, and Ishant Sharma are all available for 8.5 points each, which helps offset the excess spent in the batting. Boult is world-class, McClenaghan has been excellent for the Mumbai Indians in the past and is still a force to be reckoned with, while Ishant Sharm is one of the most improved bowlers going around. Picking Jasprit Bumrah is a no-brainer.

MI vs DC Betting Tips
The Mumbai Indians are formidable at home and have some proven match-winners in their side. They are, however, notoriously slow to start IPL seasons. We think there is a good opportunity for the Delhi Capitals to come out firing and pull off an upset to start their IPL 2019 campaign.
Back the Delhi Capitals to win.
