Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders played one of the most exciting matches of IPL 2019 when they met in Kolkata. Now, they will both play their last match of the IPL 2019 group stage against each other in Mumbai.
It is a match which is going to have a lot riding on it. The Kolkata Knight Riders must win this match if they want to qualify for the IPL 2019 playoffs. Depending on the result of the Sunrisers Hyderabad match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, that task may be tough or straightforward. Both the Sunrisers and Knight Riders are on 12 points with one match to play. The net run-rate of the Sunrisers is much better than the Knight Riders and this is why a win against the Royal Challengers will almost certainly put them through.
If, however, the Sunrisers lose, then the Kolkata Knight Riders just need to win to qualify.
Standing in their way will be the Mumbai Indians. Having qualified for the IPL 2019 playoffs, a top-2 finish is going to on the minds of the Mumbai Indians.
MI vs KKR IPL 2019 is going to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians won their previous match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a Super Over and qualified for the playoffs. Now, they have a tough task of stopping a Kolkata Knight Riders team from joining them in the playoffs.
There are two reasons why the Mumbai Indians will be desperate to win this match. The first is to get into the top-2 and thus have two chances of reaching the IPL 2019 final. The other one is to avoid facing the Kolkata Knight Riders in the eliminator.
Yes, there is a very good chance that Mumbai will have to play against Kolkata for a third time in IPL 2019 if they lose their last group match. With match winners like Andre Russell in the Kolkata side, this is one thing the Mumbai Indians will want to avoid at all costs.
The conditions at the Wankhede are quite similar to what we find in the Eden Gardens. The pitch is good for batting and high-scores can be seen in most encounters. This is why it is essential for Mumbai to sort out it's batting.
Quinton de Kock labored for his 69 not out of 58 balls in the previous match and no other batsman made any sort of contribution either. A total of 162 was much lesser than what is generally a winning total at the Wankhede.
An excellent bowling performance from Jasprit Bumrah, Krunal Pandya, and Hardik Pandya kept Mumbai in the game. The side is not going to have the same margin of error against a must stronger Kolkata Knight Riders batting lineup.
We also think that the Mumbai Indians are going to be under tremendous pressure while facing against the Kolkata Knight riders because of the manner in which they lost their previous match against them. It will take a strong effort for Mumbai to be able to stop a resurgent Kolkata side in this match.
Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, SA Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, JJ Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, MJ Mcclenaghan.
The Kolkata Knight Riders showed some signs of pressure in ht previous match. They dropped some easy catches and let the Kings XI Punjab side reach a big total even the top-order had been removed. The weaknesses in the bowling lineup surfaced once again and that is going to be something to work on in this match as well.
Sandeep Warrior has been pretty good in the two games he has played. Dinesh Karthik has tried to bowl him out in the first 10 overs, similar to Deepak Chahar, and protect him from the death overs. It is not a bad tactic which will be tested against players like Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma.
Harry Gurney could be targeted by the Mumbai Indians while Andre Russell and Piyush Chawla can be quite expensive as well. This makes the Kolkata Knight Riders bowling attack very difficult to rely upon, especially in conditions that are going to be excellent for batting.
While the bowling has been poor, Kolkata Knight Riders have found their rhythm in batting. They have finally listened to the crowds screaming at them to give Shubman Gill a chance up the order and it is paying off handsomely.
Gill has scored four fifties in the five matches he has opened. Along with Chris Lynn, this is now one of the most dangerous opening partnerships. The batting order has also been flexible enough to adapt according to the conditions. Andre Russell seems to be coming in without about 10 overs to go while Dinesh Karthik himself is taking on more responsibilities.
This is the batting lineup that we had hoped to see from the very beginning of the tournament but the team could still have a chance of making the playoffs if a little luck goes its way.
Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill, RV Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Nitish Rana, RK Singh, SP Narine, Prasidh Krishna, Harry Gurney, Sandeep Warrier.
The team winning the toss is likely to want to bat second. Mumbai Indians actually elected to bat in their previous match but we don't think they will take that chance against Kolkata. The Knight Riders prefer chasing and will definitely want a target in front of them in this crucial game.

MI vs KKR IPL 2019 is going to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. We can expect some good conditions to play cricket in Mumbai on match day. There is no rain expected and the temperatures are going to be quite comfortable as well.
The humidity is going to be very high and this could mean the presence of dew on the ground.
The previous match played at the Wankhede was a little difficult for the batsmen. There was some help in it for the spinners and the scores were around 160. We believe that things will be back to normal for this game. The batting on both sides is very strong and the small ground will make it easy to clear the boundaries.
We expect to see a high-scoring match with plenty of boundaries at the Wankhede and we are making our Dream11 team for Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders based on the same. As always, we will update the Dream11 team on twitter based on the pitch report, toss result, and team changes after the toss has been done. You can follow @cricketbettings to get the latest updates.
Wicketkeeper: We have opted to go with Dinesh Karthik in this match instead of Quinton de Kock. There is just something about him in the recent matches which is showing his hunger to win. He is also batting in the top-order and likes playing on this ground.
Batsmen: We have picked Shubman Gill, Chris Lynn, Rohit Sharma, Robin Uthappa, and Evin Lewis for this match. Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis are both due for a big score and we think this could be their match. Gill and Lynn are in excellent form while Robin Uthappa is another player we think could enjoy batting at Wankhede.
All-rounders: This is is the category where the real action happens! Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya are the two most valuable players in IPL 2019. They both played brilliantly the previous time these two teams met each other and we are hoping for more of the same in this match.
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, and Sandeep Warrior are the bowling options we have gone for in this match. Bumrah and Malinga provide solid options in the end overs (or whenever Russell comes in to bat) while Sandeep Warrier is good value for the points he commands.
Captain and Vice-Captain: Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya are our choices as captain and vice-captain for this match. They will play a big role in both the batting and bowling could be useful point scorers.

This match cannot be approached on its own and must be taken in context with the result of the Sunrisers match against the Royal Challengers. If the Sunrisers Hyderabad side is able to beat the Royal Challengers then the equation in front of the Knight Riders could be close to impossible. Bet on the Mumbai Indians to win in this case.
If, however, the Royal Challengers Bangalore end up winning against the Sunrisers then we think Kolkata Knight Riders have every chance to win. They have an in-form batting lineup that can win them the game.
Bet on the Kolkata Knight Riders to win.
