MI vs RCB Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Apr 15, 2019

Two upsets in IPL 2019 have opened up the league table tremendously. The Rajasthan Royals and even the Royal Challengers Bangalore are not out of the tournament just yet and the teams above them will have to be careful.
The next match for RCB is against the Mumbai Indians in Mumbai. The Wankhede is another venue where the strong Bangalore batting should enjoy playing. Mumbai Indians lost their previous match against the Rajasthan Royals would themselves want to put in an improved performance.
The Mumbai Indians have won four out of their seven matches and are in the top half of the league table while the Royal Challengers will be looking for their second win of IPL 2019. Both sides will want to win but Bangalore can ill-afford another loss at this stage.
MI vs RCB Team Previews
Mumbai Indians
An excellent inning from Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma set the stage for a big total in the previous match. Rohit Sharma scored 47 off 32 deliveries while Quinton de Kock made 81 off just 51 deliveries.
This should have been the time when the strong Mumbai Indians middle order pressed the accelerator but that did not happen. Kieron Pollard was unable to repeat his heroics from the previous match and it was Hardik Pandya who struck three sixes to help the Mumbai Indians reach 187.
The total was just above par in our opinion and should have been more challenging but Jos Buttler made an absolute mockery of the chase. He ripped the Mumbai Indian bowling attack apart and helped his side chase down the total pretty comfortably in the end.
The Mumbai Indian bowling attack looked clueless and there must be a few changes made. Alzarri Joseph took six wickets in his opening match but has since given away 75 runs in his next five overs. Mumbai Indians must bring back Lasith makings in place of Joseph to give themselves more options at the end of the inning.
There does not seem to be any other team change likely for Mumbai heading into this match. The Mumbai side will be very happy now that Rohit Sharma has hit some form and will be hoping to match the Bangalore batting firepower.
The wicket in the Wankhede is excellent for batting and the side which bats better is likely to win. This will put the pressure on Rohit Sharma as well as Suryakumar Yadav batting at number three. His form has not been great and Ishan Kishan may be in line to get a promotion up the order.
Jasprit Bumrah, Rahul Chahar, Jason Behrendorff, and the Pandya brothers make the bowling attack quite good, although Harik Pandya’s economy rate at the end of the inning will be a concern as well.

Royal Challengers Bangalore
The Royal Challengers Bangalore would have breathed a huge sigh of relief after winning the previous game. They could have made their task a whole lot easier by fielding better but they will take the win with both hands!
The manner in which this victory came is going to be a bit of a concern. There was nothing different or new about the manner in which Bangalore went about its job. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers performed well with the bat to anchor the chase.
These two players seem to have accepted that they are going to have to perform in each and every single match for Bangalore to win. Whether that is sustainable or not will have to be seen in the future.
Interestingly, Virat chose to play with just three overseas players. Now that Dale Steyn has joined the team, we think Mohammad Siraj may miss out in the next game and be replaced by Dale Steyn.
Having Dale Steyn in the side is going to give it a big boost. He is one of the most experienced campaigners in the world and has been bowling back to his best after returning from a shoulder injury.
Yuzvendra Chahal continues to be one of the best spinners of IPL 2019 and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be hoping to provide him some assistance in this match. Mumbai Indians are a very strong batting side and are going to test the Bangalore bowling attack.
Kieron Pollard is one of the people that Chahal will want to be careful of. Pollard has an excellent strike rate against Chahal and has struck him for sixes with ease in the past.
Royal Challengers Bangalore may have won the previous match but it was all about their two star batsmen. If they can repeat their batting performance then the side is going to be in the contest once more.

MI vs RCB Toss Prediction
The team winning the toss is likely to want to bat second. The last nine matches have been won by the chasing side and the dew is expected to become heavier during the second inning of the match as well.

Pitch and Conditions
MI vs RCB IPL 2019 is going to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The weather is expected to be clear for the match day and we should not be worried about any rain. The match is a night match and so both teams are going to be dealing with the dew, although it does seem to get heavier as the night progresses.
The Wankhede Stadium is pretty small and is home to one of the best batting surfaces in the country. The average strike rate here has been the best in IPL 2019 and we expect a similar batting beauty to be served up for this match as well. A score of around 200 seems to be the minimum that teams need to aim for while batting first.
MI vs RCB Dream11 Prediction
The Dream 11 picks for Mumbai Indians versus Royal Challengers Bangalore try and maximize the batting talent available to us. We have tried to pack our side with as many batsmen as possible and then picked up the best bowlers that fit in the budget.
Wicketkeeper: The choice between Quinton de Kock and Parthiv Patel is an easy one. Quinton de Kock is in good form and could very well be looking to maximize his stay in the IPL before moving away for the World Cup 2019 preparations.
Batsmen: There are five batsmen available and we have chosen AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, and Suryakumar Yadav. This match is going to be played at Mumbai where run-scoring has been the best in IPL 2019. Hopefully, we get to see a high-scoring match where these [players can maximize their worth. AB de Villiers is striking the ball beautifully and his six-hitting ability makes him an excellent candidate to be the Captain of this Dream 11 side as well.
All-Rounders: There are four quality all-rounders available but we can only pick two out of them. Marcus Stoinis has to be in the side thanks to his big-hitting ability and our hope that he will be promoted to open the batting sooner rather than later. FOr the other all-rounder, we have picked Krunal Pandya over Hardik Pandya and Moeen Ali. Krunal Pandya has an excellent record against Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. We have no doubt that he will be brought in to try and get them out cheaply and want him on our side if he does succeed.
Bowlers: We have three slots left for the bowlers and no too many points to play around with. We have decided to pick Dale Steyn, Navdeep Saini, and Rahul Chahar as our three bowlers. Saini and Steyn should enjoy the extra pace available at the Wankhede while Rahul Chahar has been one of the best spinners in this entire tournament.
Captain and vice-captain: We have decided to pick AB de Villiers as our captain and Marcus Stoinis as our vice-captain. One is a relatively safe choice but Stoinis could help our team move up the rankings in a hurry.

MI vs RCB Betting Tips
The Mumbai Indians are playing at home and have shown more resilience than the Royal Challengers Bangalore. That being said, the form of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers makes Bangalore a very tough side as well. The fact that Bangalore cannot afford another loss also will cause them to play with freedom.
The chasing team has won the last nine matches in the IPL and so the toss is going to have a very big role to play as well.
Back the Royal Challengers Bangalore to win but hedge your best if they end up batting first.
