MID vs HAM Match Prediction - Jun 15, 2021

With so much action happening each and every day, Vitality T20 Blast is certainly keeping the fans and the punters busy. We are not even a week into the tournament and we have already seen some well-contested matches. Middlesex are one of the only four teams that are yet to register a win in this edition of the tournament. In a bid to kick-start their campaign, they'll take on Hampshire in the upcoming match, which is to be played on 15th June 2021 at Brunton Memorial Ground, Radlett.

MID vs HAM Team Previews

Middlesex

The numbers show that Middlesex have been the worst performing side of the South Group thus far. Evidently, they are currently placed at the bottom of their group with a terrible net run-rate of -1.750. While it is true that Middlesex haven't been at their best, the fact that they have thus far faced the two best sides of their group has pushed them to the bottom of the pit.

Given the position they are in, the only way for Middlesex hereon is only up. They are coming off a 16-run loss at the hands of Kent Spitfires, the loss which certainly looks a better performance if compared to the first outing that Middlesex had in this year's competition.

Led by ever-so-experienced Eoin Morgan, it's not that Middlesex do not have skills or experience. They have a decent side on paper with players required to do the job right through. It has been a hard start for them thus far, but discounting a team led by Eoin Morgan so early isn't really a wise thing to do. If Middlesex manage to play to their potential in the upcoming match, they will be a tough side to get past.

Middlesex Playing 11

Stephen Eskinazi, PR Stirling, Joe Cracknell, Eoin Morgan, John Simpson, Luke Hollman, Christopher Green, Nathan Sowter, Blake Cullen, ST Finn, Ethan Bamber.

Hampshire

With a win under their belt already, Hampshire have done better than Middlesex, but not by much. In fact, Hampshire have been the worst-performing team amongst all sides that have registered at least a win in the entire competition already. They are currently placed at the seventh spot in the South Group ladder with two points and a terrible net run-rate of -0.946.

After getting off to a fine start with a win over Essex Eagles, Hampshire produced a disappointing performance against Sussex Sharks as they lost the match by a wide margin of nine wickets. Sussex had 22 balls to spare when they completed their chase of 155. The loss highlighted Hampshire's vulnerabilities, which might get exploited by an experienced unit like Middlesex.

On paper, Hampshire have a reasonably good side with some seasoned names available. However, after a deflating win like the one that Hants suffered, it can be a tough ask to bounce back. If the likes of James Vince and D'Arcy Short can unleash themselves, Middlesex will have their work cut out.

Hampshire Playing 11

Tom Alsop, Lewis McManus, James Vince, D'Arcy Short, Joe Weatherley, Liam Dawson, RA Stevenson, James Fuller, KY Abbott, Bradley Wheal, Mason Crane.

MID vs HAM Betting Tips

These are the two sides that are placed near the bottom of the South Group table and this match is of vital importance for both these sides. While Middlesex are yet to win a match in the competition and do not have momentum, they are arguably a better side better between the two, at least on paper. They have an experienced skipper and that can go a long way in dealing with pressure-cooker situations. For that reason, placing your bets on a Middlesex win should be the way to go here.
