The final group stage match of WBBL 2020 is going to be played between Brisbane Heat and the Melbourne Renegades. The defending champions are in an excellent position to qualify for the WBBL playoffs.
Heat just needs one win in its last two remaining matches to qualify and so no matter what happens in its previous match, its hopes are going to be alive coming into this one.
Melbourne Renegades have been out of contention for the playoffs for quite some time now. They have had another wretched season and can only hope for some brownie points for winning this one.
Melbourne Renegades vs Brisbane Heat WBBL 2020 is going to be played at the Drummoyne Oval, Sydney on the 22nd of November 2020.
The Melbourne Renegades are going to be coming into this match with a little bit of confidence since they have won two out of their previous three matches. Another match would have taken place by the time this one starts but we are not making any assumptions on what is likely to happen in that one.
There is no doubt that the Renegades have been one of the worst batting lineups this WBBL.
The batters have not been able to play with any sort of consistency. Lizelle Lee and Sophie Molineux played very well against Adelaide Strikers but that was the first time they pulled their weight this season.
Amy Satterthwaite, Carly Leeson, and the others all can bat, we know that, but there is nothing to suggest a sudden turnaround in their form and consistency at this late stage in the WBBL.
Molly Strano, Carly Leeson, Sophie Molineux, and Lea Tahuhu form a very decent bowling attack on paper. Once again, though, the results have not matched what was expected of the lineup.
We don’t see any dying blaze of glory for the Melbourne Renegades in WBBL 2020.
Lizelle Lee, Josie Dooley, Amy Satterthwaite, Courtney Webb, Amy Yates, Rebecca Carter, Makinley Blows, Ella Hayward, Molly Strano, Lea Tahuhu, Carly Leeson.
We have a feeling that Brisbane Heat is going to come into this match needing a win. Its previous match is against the Melbourne Stars and that could very easily go against the Heat.
This then would become a high-pressure match for Jess Jonassen and her girls.
Brisbane Heat has staged a marvelous recovery this season. It started slowly and it looked like the loss of Beth Mooney was going to be too hard to recover from.
However, the emergence of some very promising youngsters in the batting lineup has taken the pressure off of the seniors. Grace Harris and Jess Jonassen would dearly like to score runs but they know there are others like Georgia Redmayne, Laura Harris, and Georgia Voll that are capable of putting up a fight.
In fact, the quick-scoring ability of Laura Harris down the order makes her one of the players to watch out for in this match.
The bowling is in good hands led by Jess Jonassen. She has excellent support from Grace Harris and Amelia Kerr, both of whom have been taking wickets in most of their recent matches. Add Nicola Hancock and Delissa Limmince to the lineup and you have a very potent bowling attack indeed.
Georgia Redmayne, Laura Kimmince Harris, Charli Knott, Georgia Voll, Jess Jonassen, Amelia Kerr, Grace Harris, Nadine de Klerk, Delissa Kimmince, Georgia Prestwidge, Courtney Sippel.
We think the team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. There is no chance of the net run-rate being a factor in this match and so the teams would like to get a score on the board and then defend it.

The conditions in Sydney should be very good for cricket. There is no rain predicted and so no interruptions are likely. The pitch is going to be a bit on the slower side but will remain overall on the side of the batters.
A score of around 135-140 is going to be tough to chase down.
We are going to go with Brisbane Heat in this match. The team has a very promising crop of youngsters alongside some established names that lend the team excellent balance. It is alo in much better form than the Renegades.
Bet on Brisbane Heat to win.
