It has been an interesting start to WBBL 05 as all teams have seemed to be capable of beating the other. Only the Hobart Hurricanes have won both their matches while the Melbourne Stars lost both of theirs. Every other side has won one and lost one.
The only exception to that would be the Perth Scorchers women who are going to be playing their first match of WBBL 2019 against the Melbourne Renegades.
The Melbourne Renegades women have already played two matches and won one out of them. They will have their work cut out against a tough Perth Scorchers lineup.
Melbourne Renegades Women vs Perth Scorchers Women WBBL 05 is going to be played at the Junction Oval, Melbourne on the 23rd of October 2019.
After losing the first match against an impressive Adelaide Strikers side, it looked like the Melbourne Renegades were going to be chasing down a huge total in their second match as well. Luckily for them, Molly Strano picked up two wickets at just the right time and Georgia Wareham chipped in as well to apply the brakes on the scoring.
Sophie Molineux and Lea Tahuhu had a poor night with the ball and ended up giving a lot of runs. Molineux also got out first ball during the chase to have a truly forgettable game of cricket.
Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont batted very well together and ensured that the Melbourne Renegades would get the win (https://www.espncricinfo.com/table/series/18042/season/2019/womens-big-bash-league) they were looking for.
A short cameo from Clarie Koski and some very quick runs from Jessica Duffin also shows that the Melbourne Renegades have a decent amount of batting depth in their lineup.
The pitches in this season of the WBBL have been very good for batting and the Melbourne renegades would be hoping for some more fireworks from its batting order.

The Perth Scorchers is the last side to start its WBBL 05 campaign but that is not something that is going to matter too much. Watching the other teams and seeing what their strategy is going to be could be an advantage, in fact.
Meg Lanning is the standout superstar of the Perth Scorchers side. She is one of the best batters in the country (and the world) when it comes to women’s cricket. She often does not get the opportunities to prove her worth at the international level in the shortest format because of the strong Australian top-order so the WBBL is a perfect platform for her to really get in the runs.
Meg Lanning is going to be supported by Kim Garth, Chloe Piparo, Amy Ellen Jones, and Georgia Redmayne in the batting department. Nicole Bolton and Natalie Sciver are two more fantastic all-rounders that can contribute to both aspects of the game.
The Perth Scorchers match up very well against the Renegades in the batting department.
The bowling also has some quality players like Heather Graham, Jemma Barsby, and Mathilda Carmichael in the squad. It will be interesting to see what direction Meg Lanning goes in while choosing her final eleven for the opening match.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first to make the best possible use of the conditions

The weather is forecast to be clear and sunny in Melbourne during match day. We should have no interruptions to worry about in this match. As far as the pitch goes, the Junction Oval is proving to be an excellent batting pitch so far. Both the matches played there were won by Hobart Hurricanes who made better use of the batting conditions.
Good bounce and even pace can be expected for this match as well.
Dream11 team and Prediction for Melbourne Renegades Women vs Perth Scorchers Women is going to lean heavily on the Perth Scorchers since we believe it will be the winning side. The WBBL 05 results also show that most teams end up using 7-8 bowlers in a match thus reducing the point-scoring availability of any one bowler and spreading the wickets around. This is why batters and all-rounders are the way to go.
The Melbourne Renegades have already played two matches and would have ironed out a few kins in their lineup. That is an advantage that the Perth Scorchers cannot compete with. Looking at the squad, though, Meg Lanning seems to have a very good bunch of players to choose from.
We think this match is going to be won by the better batting side and that is the Perth Scorchers in our opinion.
Bet on the Perth Scorchers to win.
